looks good, why not throw the 150 in with the 250,your buds will tighten up and swell massivly.

try lowering your light by 3in,it looks like you can get a few inches lower. and that will stop the buds from strechin and elongating, and it will cause them to swell outwards, thus becoming obese

I've been thinking about using both but they would be plugged into the same outlet. Wouldnt that draw lots of power and maybe heat up the wires? I wonder how many watts they would both pull starting up those 2 ballasts?

I'll lower the light some tomorrow when they wake up. I'm off the next couple days so i can keep a close eye on them for burn. No cool tube but i do have a 2nd fan blowing on the hps. I just dont want to fry the buds.

you do want to fry your buds but not right now

use a dual timer and they generally can stand up to 2000w,you wont burn the wires

I do have a brand new dual timer that came with the new light..man, it;s so tempting. I need more stuff to hang it and I may grab that at the store tomorrow and do it.
Why would I want to fry them later?

I found this detoxifier and I was wondering if I could treat my tap water with it without hurting my plants next grow. Anybody know if this would work to get rid of the chloramine in my tap water.

I found some cloudy/amber trichs on some lower buds so I think I'm going to finish these without making any other changes. Next grow I'll see if I can use both HID's in flower for a total of 400 w. I was going to lower the light but any lower and I can feel the heat so I'm gonna leave that alone as well.

I cut & trimmed a couple small ones off the bottom branch of a ww to dry & try:

Nice man!! I did the same thing the other day; I actually had a tiny bud (approx 1/3 of a gram) in a low light area that that dried on the stem. I popped it off and smoked it. It was FANTASTIC!!!! :) Can't wait to hear how your buds taste! How are you going to dry them?

haha you're right. I had to try a sample to see how it was.....right, lol. I dried the smallest bud you see in the above pix on a heater duct o/n and smoked it throughout the day today. Im amazed how much better, how much stronger and how much smoother it is than any street pot I've had in years. I'm gonna chop it next weekend and start a new grow right away..I think the 250 is helping tighten the buds too! I'm a happy man.

yeah, good stuff...excellent. Cant believe I'm almost ready to chop them..A small bud lasted me all day today...I dont have a clue how much dry weight i'll get out of these 6. One is really lillipopprd and it's a popsicle stick. The rest have tons of nice sticky buds.

If i dont smoke it all first, I am going to air dry them awhile then into a paper bag & I just bought canning jars to cure them with a bit of orange peel for added flavor.

I've tried curing bud with tons of mediums, and orange peel seems to work out the best, but are you sure you really want to mask your bud's natural flavor?

By far the worst tasting cure is bread, but if you bud is dry and crumbly, you can save it by putting a corner of some bread in your stash bag/container.

Tried fresh lemon peel, that was decent, but it was kind of wet so some of my bud turned red (because it was grape ape with lots of purp) and it bled, looked like it had some kind of syrup on it, tasted and smoked good, just didn't really look that great.

Have tried lettuce also, again not really that great its better than bread, but not really what I want my bud to smell like.

If you have some sweet smelling bud, you should def go with citric fruit if you want to try to add more flavor, but if its a dank skunky smell you might be better off with something less sweet smelling, like lettuce.

Last thing I would want is some chemdog that smelled like orange, while thats not really a bad thing, it kind of takes away from the natural bud flavor, I will always remember what chemdog smells and tastes like.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I have some 1 pint mason jars that are small so I can try to cure them a few differect ways! I have ww & big bud. Not realy sure what either smells like. I use the orange peel mostly to slow the curing and keep a little extra moisture in the bud. ( like a box of cigars)

Everytime i have cured i get a glass sealable jar and put all the buds in the jar and close it and put it in the freezer. Then twice a day i open the jar and dump the buds out to air for 15-20 minutes. I havent had a problem yet. If u put it in the freezer it actually holds in some moisture. When u take the jar outta the freezer u will see the moisture on the inside and outside of the jar. I havent tried putting mediums in yet because i dont want to lose the original taste. Let me know how it werks out

PS. I was told never to keep the jar closed for more than 12 hours because it will cause mold. U need to air them out for 15-20 minutes at least 2 times a day
