Halp! Seedling d14 yellowing tips with spots

What should I do?

  • Nothing, just wait it out

  • Flush with pH water (nutrient burn)

  • Increase room temp

  • Decrease room temp

  • Feed stronger nutrients (nitrogen deficiency)

  • Water less often (over watering)

Leaf tips on bottom leaves going yellow on tips with some black/brown spotting on the leaf edges and the base of the leaves are curling up a bit.

This seedling was growing very slowly in rockwool from day 5 to day 12. The rockwool wasn't drying out so only watered it three times in first 12 days. Then put her in coco and watered with pH 6.2 solution including some calcium and magnesium and a tiny 1/4 dose of nutrients 375ppm total. She seemed to pick up! Grew an extra node and leafs got bigger. But then a new problem on the leaf tips occured 3 days later. Pictures attached from today day 17.

Additional info: had the light very close until I noticed this, pulled it back, the temps have been between 18C and 26C with between 40% and 80% humidity, normally around 50-60%, the leaf edges of the bottom set had been taco-ing up at their base a bit, with the serrations angling up for a few days prior to this problem.

Please halp halp halp!

might want to lower the ppm to 200-250 ..its just a seedling...

get some microbes use once a week.

Thanks for the advice. So you think it looks like nutrient burn then?
Yes I want to flush it but I am worried about over watering too because the pot hasn't really gone down in weight much. The ppm included the pH down which my tds meter reads. It had an EC of 0.8. The nutrient portion of the ppm was around 200-250, the rest was from calcium, magnesium and pH down and the 70 or so ppm of tap water.

all ppm no matter where it comes from counts towards the total ppm.

no I dont think its from nutrient burn I think its just a little blemish that you are mother henning about. I think that 350 ppm is too much for the little guy and could be cut down.Less is more.

You in all actuality dont have to adjust the ph the microbes adjust it right at the root surface. What liquids hit the roots thats the issue so its best to adjust it close to 6.5 so the plant doesnt get a ph shocker when watered.

if you are feeding tap then you probably have enough cal and mag in the tap water. Most or all quality nutrient manufactures have enough cal mag in there all ready.or at least some and extra cal mag isnt needed till ..well. when its needed.. (dont really care to get into an arguement about how much cal/mag are in base nutrients). The cal mag that is just cal mag is a supplement and should be used as a supplement ...when needed.

who mentioned anything about flushing the plant. And why would you? Rhetorical question.

Research what microbes do. And kelp is a must have also. Research what kelp is / does. use once a week through week 2 flower The Raw brand Kelp which is a powder is a nice kelp and its a powder so it will last a long time for you. I also like the raw brand microbes and get the bloom use that in veg and bloom.

party on wayne.
