UVC light is completely filtered out by the atmosphere. None from the sun reaches the earths surface.
Hand held UV light as a preventitive to mold?

Oh you're right, sorry, I must have miss read the ''mostly'' part. In that case it's not worth the risk just as a prevention method, thank you, that was a really important correction.
Shame I can't update the OP to correct that as a stupid mislead.

I’ve seen people also use hydrogen peroxide in like 35% quality doses like h2o2o I think it’s called. Any experience with sterilizing like that?

I am really curious about the results of this device.
The use of UV-C for preventing diseases is still controversial.
There are - as I know - no scientific papers that state that it works.
But perhaps it does in some circumstances.

The problem that I've been having with the CleanLight is there's no visual change in the powdery mildew before and after hitting it with UVC.
Not saying there's nothing happening, just no visual evidence.
I guess that the telling will come in weeks and months if I get more PM or not.

Not sure if running a handheld over the plants every couple of days is enough.
I ran 20mw of UVC in a 2x2ft space for about an hour a day.
If you over expose the plant it will look like this.
If you see that on the top most leaves, just dial back the exposure.

UVC is good to sterilize the air and thus, can take out spores before they hit the plants but if pathogens already made it into the interior of thick colas there's nothing an UVC lamp is gonna do to help it.

Hey dude. Any update on that clean light.. I just bought one and I have been using it on my plants everyday. hoping to keep this PM at bay. hoping it will stop the spread..
Skin cancer is the worst part, blindness.
Have to wear googles and gloves, and I'm going to wear a long sleeved shirt when I use it.
Flowki this is exactly what you were talking about in post 1, I thought you'd be a little more stoked!

Twohi4h I bought and AirROS machine (sterilize plant surfaces) and stopped using the CleanLight.
I still got a slight bout of powdery mildew last harvest, using the AirROS, maybe should have kept using the CleanLight.
Good luck, PM is a heartbreaker.

I will remember to take one. I'm in week 5 flower! At the moment it is just on mostly bigger fan leaves. I keep picking them off. I'm now waving that thing over the plants every morning hoping it will kill spores so they don't progress any further. My vortex fan died that was used to scrub the air. Since I'm in a sealed room I would a assume the lack of scrubbing paired with some high humidity days/night must be where the PM came from. First time with it.

Might be the time of year, I saw a lot of powdery mildew threads in September/October.
I picked up a product called Dr Zymes' Eliminator that digests the PM and spores. I used it to kill an outbreak in veg and my brother used it to fight back an outbreak in flower. Much better off spraying leaves with PM than wiping them off and spreading spores. Safe to use late in flower, made of food safe ingredients. Pretty cheap.
Good luck, I spent $5,200 cdn on the AirROS and I'm still not sure to be rid of PM.

Good airflow is usually enough to prevent PM, even when it's humid.
A common mistake is to let leaves overlap, which traps moisture and blocks airflow -- a perfect environment for PM to start.
Also, healthy plants are more resistant to PM (and pests).
Seedlings that develop deficiencies can easily become stunted & vulnerable so it's important to give them a good start.

so I just hit week 5 flower... Dr. Zymes safe to spray? won't it leave a residue or something? I like the sounds of something eating the fungi
