Dry them in any suggested manner you wish; when they are dry they go into the jars to cure for 4+ wks. This is when the bud mellows out.

so do most of the people on riu agree with a month cure time?

or is it less cure time if you used cfls to grow your crop?

do like the one said earlier, dry till its dry, then cure for a few, then sample everytime you open the jar. hopefully you will get a whole jar full of bud to work through. do a report on it everytime you smoke. then you have researched proof of what the best cure time is for you. actually, i think I will do that too! I am gonna smoke some everytime I open the jar anyhow.

Oh, I was joking about doing a report, i know the humor didnt translate across the forum!

drying time depends on alot of things so there is no set number of days. just when the buds are dry enough to break up and smoke then they're ready to go into jars for curing. if they are too wet when you put them in the jars condensation will appear on the jars. if that happens take them out for a couple more days. also the longer they cure the better. and as for the paper bag thing, the paper sucks the moisture out helping to dry them quicker but its not the best idea because on larger buds the outside of the bud will be bone dry and crispy but the inside is still wet and this uneven drying can create problems.

You are confusing drying with curing. Fluffy bud dries much faster in the paper bag, but all bud needs a few weeks to cure. Be careful with the fluufy stuff though. I know that when you let it get too dried out it will stay harsh even when cured. Just watch the stems, when they snap near the bud it's time for the jar. If you jar a bit early the stem may get a little spongy- just take them out for a few hrs. Check daily and repeat until they stabilize, usually just a few days.

You should Cut the plant down, let it dry till the stems crackle but not quite snap. after drying, trim off leaves and put into a jar to cure, opening it once or twice a day to let moisture out. this will give you the smelliest stickiest bud you can get.

Personally i let my bud dry at 50-60% humidity for 5-10 days til they snap but not off completely and then i throw them in jars and i open em up once or twice a day to burp out the exess moisture. Nice Buds Bro. =]

everyone dont listen to the brown bag method i used to do it this way but i hang till they are dry on the outside then straight to jars then back out for another day and my smoke is killer!! try it the brown bag way and u will be dissappointed i know i was !!:weed:

The way I cure is, I let them hang dry for about 5 days then I tear everything down, cut off all the nugs from the stems and place in a shoe box for about 5 more days moving it around in the box everyday. After that I place them in glass jars for preserving food, opening and closing the jar in 12 hour rotations. I will continue this till the stem snaps. This works great for me and really brings out the smell.

That never seemed right to me, But I have heard people drying that way with no problems. Just have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't get to dry.

There's nothing wrong with putting them in a paper bag. Its the same as putting them in a shoe box.
