Has Anyone Attempted The 6 Hr 40 Min On/ 12 Hr Off Schedule?

I will keep you all posted. I still need a week maybe two until my plants are old enough to flower. And I will keep posts on how it works out. Thanks for sharing this idea. I really cant seem to shoot it down with a what about this or what about that. Our planet hasn't always spun at 24 hour intervals. 600 million years ago the length of a day was only 21 hours. Dam it you made me think! Time to for a maintenance hit.

Exactly, and the thing is it has been proven by other growers that it really does work. Some have seen an increase of yield & some have not. However to make up for the loss of yield some growers just add a couple more plants. :peace:

I'll be keeping an eye on this one, good idea. I heard the do it with chickens to get them to lay more eggs. It's only meant to lay one a day but if you give it 6/6 you can get it to lay 2.

Why hasn't anyone gone to the FAQ?
GROWFAQ

They cycle shown in the grow faq is a 21 hour 36 minute cycle with 12 hours of night. Totally different.

Now with that being said, the grower goes o to say

"I have only successfully tested this photoperiod for two weeks. The potential for a net increase of 40% over the entire cycle (80% increase in light energy vs. 40% longer wait) is worthwhile. Don't be afraid!"

So he/she does not go on to say if the grow was completely successfull using this method. Two weeks of testing is not sufficient. It needs to be done straight thru out the flowering period in order for it to be factual & documented. Thans for the research to, its greatly appreciated of you for adding this. :hump:

Hey SFSean,
I ordered the timer from Amazon, it should be here any day now. It will be a little to far along in my flowering cycle to change my girls and still get a good test with this crop. But I do have plenty of clones ready to go, so I will try this on a smaller scale once my timer arrives.

yea I'm in the process of doing my first grow and this looks very interesting, but I think I'm gonna stick with the 12/12 thing for now....I just really don't wanna mess em up and I know the 12/12 thing works. I really do wanna see some results on this site from this though cause like I said it does look interesting.
