As for the set up - it's been switched around quite a bit now. Getting set up for perpetual.
Meijiu bar LED coming in this week.

I'm hoping lumber prices drop enough this winter to make finishing my basement worth it. Then I can start on a dedicated room.

with sea trout you don't just land 6 there's lots of on/off,s tugs, pulls and lost at the net.
That was a most memorable night warm balmy with sea trout and oz of good weed, I was in heaven.

Amazing.
I've never had the pleasure to fish for sea trout, but it's on my bucket list.
I was talking with the inlaws the other week and it's possible I'll be doing a little rainbow fishing trip next year along with some deer hunting in the fall.

I'd have to say there's nothing better than an early AM on the lake with a nice fat one burning and the puppy by my side.
Something about that fresh morning air and glass-like water.

Musky?
Man that must put up a fight!
I have a pic of a 50" somewhere but I can't find it
That one was maybe around 46 or 47.
Not much of a fight actually 80lb braid 100lb leaders. Dem teef are sharp. Big lures some weigh a 1lb and you're tossing all day. Need the heavy gear. They dog like Lakers and head shake hard usually good for a breach and a massive roll/headshake above the water. In the net asap.

You guys gave me the itch.
Got the motor in a bucket to test it out and make sure it runs. Friggin impellers done. 2 week back-order. D'oh!

If I get some decent shut eye tonight I'm gonna take the dog down to the pond nice and early and see if I can get a few specs.
And if it's still early enough I'll swing by one of my little honey holes and see if I can get a couple walleye off shore while I'm out.

If not I'll keep a few of these hammer handles and try out my new meat grinder.

You must be around southern Ontario or further out west? We don't have em here up north.
Never would have thought they were that tough to catch, I almost expected them to act aggressively like pike and just go for anything in front of them.

Ya I'm in southern Ontario. That pic was from Lake St Clair. They're actually real picky. It's quite the science targeting them. Moon cycles barometric pressure all play huge roles in catching.
You in northern Ontario? They're loaded up there. Lake of the woods is a great spot
You could catch one on a worm and bobber lol they are strange creatures no doubt. But if you want to be serious and target the big girls you gotta chuck the big baits. I'll bust out my pounder swim shad and take a pic for you. Lol

Bummer on the water pump man it doesn't take but a few seconds to cook the impeller. She run dry or just age

I was almost tempted to blur them out as well as I seen this comment coming!

The wife always jokes that they're my "safety crocs".
I may or may not use them as a chainsaw boot alternative
Along with my "chainsaw shorts"

Old age, truthfully I needed one last year, but now it's done. The motors a mid 90's Yamaha. I bought it 2 years ago, hadn't ran for about 15 years. A little tune up and shes been running great ever since minus the impeller.

I've also got an old Merc that was almost converted into an anchor more than a few times but I've stopped myself from that impulse.

Turns out you have lots of time to change your mind during the 5km paddle back to the launch. :wall:

That's cool! I'm jealous of the variety you guys got down there but I'm thankful for the countless, more private lakes we have up here.
I got some buddies down south that like to go for Ling. They cooked some up one night and I gotta say for being such ugly buggers they taste pretty damn good!

You guys ever hear of the Aurora trout?

Yes chain pickerel, they're very good same as pike imo
Looks meatier too. My dad was telling me about them, guess they have them inland on the east coast.

Fun little fact for you guys, I'm in one of the few zones where smallmouth is open year round with a limit of 6. The lakes are few and far between but I located one that's been ignored for years. About a 2km bush whack through some thick bush. Will be worth the effort this winter I'm thinking.
