Have you been Subbed?

I saw a thread called You've been Swerved and figured this was an obvious thread to make since so many have been Subbed (hermie beans, mutant junk, poor germ ect..) lets hear your stories.


I've grown 3 TGA from seed, Dairy Queen turned out fine 3/5 females and really only 2 pheno's, one cheese leaner had a bit more sativa in her but 2 cheese leaners and a C99 pheno I kept.

Got 2/5 worth growing from Deep Purple 1 didn't germ, 2 1 leaf mutants that didn't flower and the one good looking plant harmed in flower, not too bad but still through a lot of bananas so she didn't make a 2nd run.

JTR put on a huge untapped cola that dusted a whole fucking room.

I don't know if your gonna find that many sub haters on RIU. He was a big part of this forum for a long time.

anyways, here's my run down of tga

Pennywise- got 4 females from a 10 pack
Micky kush- also got 4 females from a 10 pack
Jesus OG- got 1 female from a 5 pack

I kept the best one from each and people absolutely love it, my most popular strains

I also made some micky F2's and crossed the jesus into some of my other strains. Never seen any bananas on any of them.

You might get more feed back if this thread was in one of the growing forums. But sense you put it in TnT here's a nice picture for you.

I think TGA has reached a point that theyre too big hard to keep that quality in check i think.... I have had great stuff from them years back. Recently tried Agent Orange and what a fucking waste of everything., all hermied late in flowering with no stress, only to get a couple of pheno that somewhat smelled like straight up oranges and i cant get high off eother pheno I swear to god. No many how many rips and joints i just get slightly buzzed, Not to mention the smell did not translate anyyythinbg into the taste. And this was grown in a recycled soil no deficiencies the whole time.
I was propper sad, wanted that extreme orange taste on the exhale like id had years back. not there

I agree and that's why I would never go into the seed business. I've got hundreds of seeds that I made and I will never sell them for that reason. If I give them away then nobody can bitch if they're not perfect.

Just because somebody bought a seed doesn't mean its going to be that plant in the magazine. Way too many factors What phenotype? Did you germ it right? What were your germination temps? ect. I grew a jack the ripper that ripped my ass. You always have a risk getting seeds from a middleman. For all you know they could have taken your stuff and gave you regs.

I agree with the above. There is no way to "see" a strain in seed form, so it is all based on hearsay as far as ordering seeds...imo

I am learning the process of saving a strain, once I find one worth saving of course..lol

I don't think subcool is actually supplying you guys. its other people in his company doing all the breeding. I might be wrong though. all I know about the dude is from the nerd hes pretty open about his life and plays good music so I listen once a week to see if I'm missing anything. I was watching the nerd today in fact episode 150. Thanks for the Michigan shout out sub!

Posably the swears everything's stable n I got the packs we will have test to find out the truth I don't hate the guy I hate loosing money and his name was all over it.. Not a cool thing subway or not a subway it's not cool.. We all got seeds we three friends ran diffrent phenoe n got he she's no use in crying just don't advertise stable strain is all

I've been subbed, swerved, paradised,barneyed, everything! Have I gotten good seeds sure. I gotten bad ones as well.The only way we are to find new gems is to crack seeds. That's why we buy them for the hope of finding that gem. Perhaps op and others would be better off with a clone.

LOL thanks for the clone suggestion. I run plenty of clones and pop plenty of beans, I can't say I've popped 1000's of beans in the last year like some infact this has been a slow year but I've popped well over a 100 beans in the last 2 years and a few hundred n the last 4 or so years, my germination technics are on point, I just demand a little more from a seed company.

Back when we started in 2000, never saw hermies, only read about them in magazines and that usually was a result of light leaks or forced hermie using weird light cycles. It's just been the last 5 or so years that hermies seem to been accepted as part of the "looking for that gem" growers want, I too want that gem don't get me wrong it's why we pop beans to begin with. I guess it comes down to styles, I prefer a stable strain rather than unstable crosses and we have SOOOO many fly-by-night breeders these days that don't make strains just crosses that they themselves don't even run and drop after 1 release. 1 male hit to a bunch of "elites" and thou have a breeding company lol c'mon now!! In subs case 2 males lol but nothing has been worked, his excuse is "to let the grower find his keeper" what that means is he want to put out as many crosses as he can but just making F1's and not put any effort into creating a strain.

Lets face it EVERYONE wants the BCS pheno of AoS and Plushberry when they grow it, with some work he could produce a strain that yields 80% + BCS phenos, but that would get in the way of making a bunch of new F1's with whatever the popular clone of the day is. He's not the only he's just the one doing it on the largest scale, Garden of Dreams is a Alien Tech male X clone only, Green Point Monster Cookies male X 6 crosses.

It also should be noted being in a legal state you can acquire these clone only strains so no need to grow a seed and hope to get that pheno.

Have you ever tried growing a male along side your females? Plants communicate with each other via pheromones. Perhaps they know you dont have a male so they are self reproducing. I recall some of my very first grows having hemie plants and they were outside.I wont say how long ago but I will say it was over a decade. It only happened when I didn't have a true male around.
