Doeyed shit is pretty sound. I feel you topped way too early, I usually wait about 3 weeks as well so they develop strength before I start severely damaging them. Topping is pretty brutal to a plant but if they're strong they bounce right back. That mixed with a transplant 6 days prior? I'd be surprised if they WERE growing fast. Listen to doeyed, and good luck.
