Help, LED's

Hey, first time posting a thread here!

Basically I already have a pc grow box with a few cfl's. Looking for something bigger. I want to renovate a small room downstairs into a grow room. I would like to grow a few plants. I'm really interested in using led's due to power saving and low heat.

I've been lurking on ebay, what do you guys think is better?

#1, 90W ufo led light 7:1:1 R-B-O

or

#2, 4 x 15W square 225 led lights

Naturally I'll be putting cfl's in there also. I'm thinking maybe a 100W or two.

feedback?

Stick with the UFO. A friend of mine on here uses led. He has posted on some of my topics if you check my posts out you'll find him. Good luck

The red seems to be a little low. If you want to flower with it, the red should be 660nm or higher. but you could veg a plant nicely under the 90w ufo. I would stay away from the 15 watt panels. I use a 120W to flower with and i wish I had more.

If I bought one of the full red led's instead, or had some warm white cfl's would that do the trick for budding? Should I leave the led on while flowering anyway?

I'm not sure I'd go with all red... some people do though... I like to have that full spectrum even when budding. and yea, put 2700K CFL's all around the plants, keep em close to. but by all means if your budding in an area with an LED(or any grow light) hell yea turn it on! plants love light!!

here is a pick of one of my blueberry bushes with an LED/CFL combo.

Seriously, do some research and DO NOT buy either of those pieces of Chinese junk - you will end up hating LEDs.

The description of the UFO light includes the following gem of information ... "
2) Powerful 90w led grow light to replace 2 pieces x standard 400W to 600W HPS grow light, save 90% on electriciy. Each light covers 18 square feet."

If you believe that piece of BS, you may as well send them your money.

To get good results from LEDs you need to spend a reasonable amount of money, and avoid mass produced Chinese junk.
