Help with lighting

if i recall right , you are using dry powders for food ? neptunes harvest ? which one? how much of each food ?

I still think the bright light is the culprit but i cant be sure yet...
I am using "SuperGreen 20-20-20":
It says to use a tsp per gallon. I was using about a half tsp per gallon and have moved up to 3/4 of a tsp as she grows. I'm using the mix at each watering.

The lower leaves have gotten worse. They are yellowing and covered in spots. The upper leaves and new leaves are twisting - a few have twisted right over, upside down - and a lot of the others look wrinkled and misshapen. I will post more pics, this afternoon.

If too much light can do this, then I'd wager that is what it is. I'm used to dealing with a 19 Watt and this new one is 100 Watt. I have a new camera with a proper light meter in it (not just the camera), and I can use that app to grab the lux. What should the lux be at the top of the plant?

Not sure because my dumbass phone wont measure over 15k lux....my sensor is broke i guess. I can get 15k lux out of a single led strip.

Your food is very strong. Not sure if you should feed it every watering. The extra light is not causing the curls....only the yellowing and light green.

I will take a few more pics, once the wife wakes up (The grow tent is in our bedroom). Thanks for helping me with this. Should I be starting another thread seeing how this is no longer about buying a light?

There is no Ca or Mag in that food.... get some calmag or something to replace it.... dolomite lime is full of Camag.
"Houseplants: Mix 5 ml per 4 L of water (1 tsp / 1 gal) and soak soil with the mixture. Repeat every 4 weeks during active growth. "
Yes you are feeding STRONG ....prolly too much.

Thats completely on you sir... the mods dont care.
You can get more exposure if you repost another thread but you'll have to weed through the shitty opinions again.

Lux meter shows 22,000 at the top of the plant. If I turn the dimmer all the way up, I can get it as high as 37,000.

Here are the pics. First one is top of plant and new growth:20210331_121614.jpg20210331_121625.jpg20210331_121656.jpg20210331_121634.jpg

This is too much light, and if the feed is without calmag this would only make things worse.
Okay. I can work with that. Light was at 22,000 and I've lowered it to 20,000. Should I go even lower? How severe does it look? (Of course, I know any number you give me would only be a guess and in the end, it's up to me, but a ball park number would be good to get me started.)

Got any lime to topdress with ? That will help a lot of things including ph and Ca and or mag defs.

I dont know much about the phone apps reading so i would say just lower it to the eye. Turn your dimmer until you actually see it get dimmer just a bit then take another measurement. maybe 15k ish ?

She is slightly overfed but not by much.....that curled up leaf is not too bad...yet. My opinion is that if you had enough calcium then the plant would be able to handle the extra food and light but thats just an educated opinion i formed from your grow.

Back the light down to dimmer then 22k on your phone. make it noticeably dimmer to your eyes. just a tad...
Go get some Calcium and magnesium asap! Dolomite lime is a great additive for any soil/less mix but if you cant get it quick then pick up some regular chemical calmag. Give um full strength calmag for 2 straight waterings and then go back to your regular food but back off it just a smidge too... maybe feed over other watering instead of every watering. or just lower the dose for every watering ....howevwer you choose.

Lots of great advice! I will buy some CalMag, tomorrow and drop the light intensity, immediately.
I will update in a few days.

She looks a little over fed, but remember the damage does not go away.

How's the new light working for you?

My plants like it so much I bought more & a lux meter (hasn't come yet).

New light is amazing! I think I had it set too bright, to start. New leaves are looking wrinkled so...possibly it's still a bit too bright?

That's great! If you could do me a favour and let me know what the lux is, once you get the meter, I can calibrate the one on my phone and get a much more accurate reading!
Will do, but it won't get here for another 10 days :wall:
Can you calibrate your phone using the Sun?
