Help with my super soil

It’s my first run around with a fairly large sized cannabis grow. I just started mixing my soil, after adding several different organic amendments. I understand some peoples grow mold, is it bad if mine doesn’t ? & when it’s cooking can I use just unfiltered hose water? Lastly I need to mix the soil as it’s cooking every so often as well as water it correct ?

Hey man, not sure about the mold, I think it's all right if yours doesn't grow mold. You can use unfiltered water, let it rest for a day in order to let the chlorine evaporate, it's bad for microbes. And yeah mix it, let the mix sit, and water a little when you see it's getting dry. It needs to keep a little moist for the microbes to live.

Just an FYI, you can use powdered vitamin C to get rid of the chlorine and chloramines. You need a tiny amount per gallon-30 mg or so. To give you an idea, one gallon would use just the tiniest bit on the edge of a spoon, or say, a full bathtub would be like a teaspoon. I buy it by the LB on Amazon for like $12 and it lasts forever.

In general when your letting the soil cook is it better to cover it or leave it exposed to light?
Not sure, but a lot of people let it sit in the garden. I erased my last comment because I remembered that when I watered slowly and saturated my soil I had a plant already in it. My bad. Now that I remember my soil mix was moist because I did it with reused promix, and I had to wash it (I used bottled ferts the previous grow), the pro mix kept my whole soil mix moist. But I guess if I had to do it again with dry promix I would just water it the same, because I've seen people do it that way.

That's a good tip man, great for big amounts of water, thanks.
