Help with odor control!

This is my 4th grow and things have gotten better and better each time. The last couple grows had odor issues but my single 4" carbon filter and fan did ok. I could get a whiff outside my building every now and again but not too bad.

This time I have 4 plants all with huge, sticky, smelly buds and it reaks outside my place. I need something to run inside my room to scrub the air but not vent it out. I use CO2 and do not exhaust during lights on. But my temp and humidity control unit does vent out while in use sporadically during day and this unfiltered exhaust nasty smelling. Lol

How big of a filter and fan should I get to scrub air in room to remove scent? I need to get as much of the smell as I can.

Room is 6x12x10. WxLxH.

Let me know if any other info is needed. Thanks!

From Grow Ace:

“The best way to figure out which size carbon grow room filter you should use is to make sure that your filter's CFM value is either equal to or lower than the CFM value of your grow room and your exhaust fan. For example, say you have a 5ft x 5ft x 8ft grow tent: Multiply 5x5x8.”

Phish I use a gizmo called an AirROS, basically a hydrogen trioxide generator that kills powdery mildew and mold, etc.

It also stops the smell inside your tent - you can't use the AirROS with a charcoal filter because the filter absorbs the H2O3.

Expensive but worth it to solve a pest or odor problem.

.

How It Works

AirROS by SAGE Commercial air & surface purifiers utilize high voltage and high frequency-controlled pulses, but very low amperage to create non-thermal plasma and generate ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). ROS are the sanitation/cleaning agents that prevent and destroy Molds (including Powdery Mildew), Viruses, and other Pathogens and control/eliminate Odor in the Air and Surfaces in two stages:

Setup a few( do the math on volum3/ too high lazy) scrubbers in the room. Fan directly on carbon filter Then one exhaust with filter. Shpild
Clean you right up

You are way undersized. I have a 6" x18 carbon filter for my little 3x3 and smell still sneaks by.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the replies. I've been busy in trim jail. I ended up using the calculator and got a 950 CFM 10" fan with a 10 x 24 carbon filter. It worked great. Not a cheap upgrade but well worth having the right sized equipment.

Here are a couple pics of my last two girls. As I said. My 4th grow. This one is the best by far. This group got me a long way. Much appreciated. I went from an avg of 4z / plant at .4 grams per watt my 1st 3 grows. To this grow which will put me at a 10z+ avg / plant at 1 gram+ / watt. (2 plants dried and trimmed already at 21z) these two girls make those look sickly. Soo happy.

I've found it helps to port your exhaust into a carbon filter that is inside a container at least twice as large as the filter. Old used up chest coolers work well for this. Then a passive line out. Pressure and turbulence built inside the cooler will recirc the air through the filter while smaller amounts are pushed out to final exhaust point slowly.
