help with problem - started with ph lockout

light: quantum led evader 300 (got it cheap 2nd hand - pulls 120W of real power)
medium - 100% perlite hempy in a 20oz party cup
nutes - OC+ (possibly too heavy here - maybe 2 tsp for the cup)

originally I watered with straight tap, which for me turns out to be ph 8.5 or higher (using drops/color). I started seeing the problems which I believe to be from ph lockout - looked like Potassium deficiency best I can tell (I'm a novice). I've since started ph'ing the water @ about 6.0 for the last week. I THINK the issue may be clearing but would like some of you to weigh in. I had same issues in VEG under CFL and those girls definitely look like they have recovered. The light is new to me (last time grew under a 200w feliz cfl) so it may be contributing (ya, too many variables).

Drop/color PH testers are great for pools, hot tubs (but I can still get irritated skin).
A quality PH tester is a must. (I grow hydro)
But as far as peace of mind, and knowing exactly what's going in the root zone, a tester with ph/temp/ppm is invaluable. IMO.

plants look like they'll recover (it will take some time) fine once you start giving them properly ph'd water and nutes. drops testers should be a last resort.
