The drinking faster, feeding more is an indicaton one light is performing differently but without correlating increases in plant mass increases in effeciency cannot be determined. It does not look to me as if the hgl plant has 2/3 more mass than the hlg plant.

We cannot be scientific in the nature of this comparison but we can be scientific in the evaluation of the information @hybridway2 is providing regardless of our opinion of him as a grower.

They are drinking faster by 2/3 of a day, not 2/3rds all together. Just early day feed opposed to later day feed when both are feed at the same time and are equally dry (close).
Another observation i think is important is that the HGL plant also drinks more each feed before feed comes out of the bottom. Meaning its drinking 1/4 gall. More then the HLG plant every feed. Its drinking it up as i water fast.

I'm surprised to see that the CHPS has such a short bulb life. My CMH bulbs last about 18months before the quality of light starts to diminish.
I wasn't suprised after seeing all the IR in the spd. But you're right, prior to that i was thinking theyd last as long as a cmh bulb. But then again, they never did make the 600 cmh to last like the 315 did they?

Well almost twice the watts is twice the heat when you handicapped the HLG to meet the poor inefficient ppfd of the HGL. You also get less biomass in a space that is getting half the heat.

Transplanted to 7's tonight.
Both lights cranked up. Hlg is around 500w.
Maintaining the 30" recommended distance rather then staying at 300w & growing within 2'.
The single board is keeping the plant a tight bush while the x4 smaller lights are opening up the HGL plant. Makes sense. Saw the same thing with the bar lights.
She is in the game fir sure. Yes, a tighter bush Vs. A monster. 20190701_003245.jpg
De-fo'd some. 20190701_003253.jpg both will be pruned & trellised tom.

Can't be sure but it looks like the sticky trap is liquifying from the heat and might drip into the unit.

Upon root inspection i saw no damage nor larva or gnats on the HLG plant. Roots are very white & have been treated with SNS203 as well as a continuous use of T-Drops (Tanlin). Also, there were no yellow leaves either so im thinking there was not much set-back. Been treating with t-drops fir a long time so maybe the gnats i saw awhile back were just residual surface gnats.
Plant is growing nicely but wants to keep tightening up to the middle. Which btw is a trait of this strain as well. It grows straight up usually.

Thus far based on all of your tests/comparisons which LED light fixture would "you" buy for veg and flower ?
Cheers! :peace:

He doesn't have the flower answer yet...
I understand, but assuming that hes an advid grower I was curious his opinion/experience.
I've been using a hlg 600 that's been averaging 6-8 ounces per plant, soil, organic in 7gal air pots. I get envious of my friends who are getting 15 plus ounces per plant from their old school hps single ended lights. I like the clean look of the LEDs and energy savings but wouldn't be opposed to adding something that'll pack a better punch/yield :weed:

So far The Amare Bar-8 Canna-Spec (w/470nm). Have yet to see an equal full cycle fixture.
Here's what I'm gonna do. I'll place plants in the new tent. I'll hang the hlg600 on one end and the other hps light (new/used light De 1000w with ballast, $120) on the other end, I'll use panda film to separate them (if possible) and compare Led to hps

a Led vs Hps grow? How innovating and shocking, i wonder which lamp is gonna win?
