Hot Shot NO PEST strips: damage plants?

Can too many no pest strips in a small closet grow damage plants? Probably a stupid question, but I have been having problems with keeping my girls healthy and this is one of the only variables I dont control/know if damage is possible... At one point I had 3 pest strips in a 5 (+-) sq ft closet with the door closed 12 hours a day for flowering. Just wondering if the chemical fumes could damage the plants in a closed environ like that...

i can't tell you from 1st hand knowledge, but i do seem to recall a thread somewhere warning about them
on another site, so all i can do is encourage you to search

Yeah ive heard some pretty bad shit about using those around your garden. Id do wayy more research if nobody here can point you in the right direction cause it could be dangerous.

i use 2 of them in a 4x4 grow closet and never had a problem. i change them out every 3 months and been doing this for a couple of years.

The interesting thing is that I have read alot of bad things about being around these strips for extended periods of time for people/pets but nothing really about plants... My plants are exhibiting over nute leaf curl on fan leaves... Im a first time grower with no one I know who can help me, I stopped nutes for about 2 weeks and now Im only watering at 1/4-1/2 strength max, FFOF soil. I pulled the pest strips out of the grow room a few days ago (4) they seem to be doin a little better so Im wondering if there is a connection

It's not the pest strips... I use them as well and in fact, some say that's the reason I never get spider mites. Here are some other supporting threads...

The only warning is that you not spend 4 hours or more in a poorly vented location with a no-strip.

how long have you had your plants in the ffof soil? you shouldn't need to start adding nutrients to your water for 6 weeks or more.

Judging by these responses, my original hunch is probably more than likely the cause of my plant stress; that is, spider mite damage, one episode of overwatering and too much nutes in good FFOF soil. I was searching for any other possible causes but my noob mistakes are probably what is causing my ladies stress...

Yea I had the same question I put one hotshot in my closet and the next day my n.y. diesel looked sad as shit none of the others looked effected...but I took it out later that day. Idk if it got em cuz it now looks to be spreading to the others. So yesterday I put it Bak in to find the same thing happened...my strawberry deep chunk looked a lil funny but nothing major..

iuse them if i see a hint of a problem i use them for about 5 days then put them back -i keep in dark cool place in a zip lock bag -til i need them againafter 3 or four uses i replace

i've used them in the past and never noticed any ill effects to my plants and i didn't get sick from smoking my stuff. they don't work so great for fungus gnats, though, at least they didn't for me.

I use them all the time for flying insects (Fungus Gnats). I doubt they'd be effective against spider mites. I've never had them, so I can't tell you how to get rid of them, except if you could get hold of some lady bugs at this late season.

I use them from a recamendation from a friend/RIU member. They kill mites good and everything else to. I do think it can sometimes mess with new seedlings and freash clones. I wouldn't use them in flower and if necesarry only for 24 hr intervals. I've read here that it damaged a members buds all so. In vegg I wouldn't leave them in anymore than 4 days at a time or a mites reproductive cycle and put it back in a zip lock bag and repeat in another 4 days untill the mites are gone, Leaving it in all the time could breed a super mite ? They do work and are powerfull. 1 does a 8x8 room fine.:bigjoint:
