How big should my grow box be??

First off I would like to say hello to all and thank you for any help you can give.

I need some General advice on my whole set up. my plans of what I'm doing.

I have a cupboard which I wish to build a grow room at the back of. The dimenshions are 8f high by 2.5f wide and 3.5f long

I'm not sure what disighn (Open to idears) but I'm going to buil it out of plywood with a vent at the top running up to the sealing and through a carbon filter.

Will add a picture if you want but theres nothing much to see.

Any advice on regulating the temp

Wops almost forgot what I'm growing, 5 Northern Lights (Fem and Autoflower ) from Nivana and 1 White Rino and 1 White Widow both (Fem) ALREDY GERMING!

P.S I still need space for some clothes lol and let me know if you need any info to help me.

Anything else you think I should know I'm all ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the cab I built to give you some ideas. This is my first grow. It is about 2'x3'x7'. I have three plants in 3 gallon pots, under a 400w air cooled hood, sucking through a carbon filter and 6" inline fan, pulling through passive intakes at the bottom. The temps stay within one or two degrees of my bedroom temperature. The carbon filter still makes my whole house smell like ganj even before budding. If I wasn't renting, I'd pipe my exhaust into the attic.

As you can see, even with three plants its getting crowded. My plants were clones and a seedling, in the cab for 4 weeks veg, and now 1 flower. They are on rubbermade totes, as my light/exhaust setup is fixed. I am getting ready to take out one more tote, because they are getting close to the light pretty fast in flower. By the time things are all said and done, I'm not going to have much room for clothes!

Hope this gives you some ideas, and good luck!

cHEERS BRO. How much was your set up costs and extra running costs, could you break it down a lil more for me and most of all what growing dude;) looks good anyway I'm looking for a quick 2 mouth grow i'll add what i'm doing from another post.

I'm not sure what disighn (Open to idears) but I'm going to buil it out of plywood with vents at the top running up to the sealingand through a carbon filter.

Now thats the jist of things this is what i plan on using:

Wops almost forgot what I'm growing, 5 Northern Lights (Fem and Autoflower ) from Nivana and 1 White Rino and 1 White Widow both (Fem) ALREDY GERMING!

FOR VEG:
Light: Sunmaster 400w HID 7200K from
http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/...-Lamps-807.asp

Now I have a reflector from my first grow which I'm guessing is self ballasting. Is this adiquit for a 400w HID AND HPS? (I really don't want to burn my house down!)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dual-Use-CFL-H...QQcmdZViewItem

Flowering
LightL: Osram son-t-plus 400w 5500Lumens

http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/...-Lamps-808.asp

I have some things I'm not clear about:

How tall and wide does the box need to be for 7 plants?

Am I going to burn my house down if I plug those lights into my reflector?

Any advice on regulating the temp

Anything else you think I should know I'm all ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My setup cost prob around $1000.
Ballast, reflector and bulb = $330
S&P TD-150 fan = $125
Lumber for cab = $125
Paint, timer, power strip, weatherstripping, soil, nutes, hardware, sheetmetal pans and intake vents = $the rest.

I also have to add that I built all the sheetmetal parts, so that cut down on cost.

As for that reflector. It looks like a cord/socket deal. It doesn't have a ballast to fire a HPS or MH bulb. You will need a separate ballast or you can run a high wattage CFL that has a built in ballast, but be aware that some of the CFL bulbs don't have a built in ballast.

My temps stay within 1-2 degrees of room temperature, which is about 77-85 degrees in my bedroom, even with the AC on, I live in crappy apartments and it gets hot upstairs in my South facing bedroom. These plants have been in the cab for five weeks.

I have one J1 started from seed that sprouted on Mother's Day, and the other 2 are Bubba Kush clones I put i when I got them. Here's a pic of when they started.

post a pic of the space you have to work with mate that'll help alot, with regards to cost do you already have nutes, ph meter, soil and pots? if so £300 should cover a cheap grow cab maybe even a complete cheap tent set up off ebay i paid £240 for mine delivered 1x600w hps hobby style reflector or wing shaped,600w ballast, tt100 extraction in line fan, ducting + clips, small carbon filter to fit ducting etc 2yoyo style hangers for the light, and a 1.2x1.2x2 meter mylar lined tent (secret jardin) all in all not a bad deal but you would need a small seperate intake fan i bought mine for £20 from no frills, and then obviously you have the cost of the stuff mentioned above

honestly mate i'd save some cash and ebay it for your first run i got 600w hps dual spectrum bulbs growlux sylavania bulbs and they do the job nicely they're easily available and pretty cheap, for the money you plan on spending chances are your gonna do the same as me and start up grading before you've even finished your first run the items you got listed all seem like good items but i'd defo look into the tent option they only take a couple of mins to put up and can be taken down in 20mins with plants and all in trust me mate that makes them worth there weight in gold wink wink also for the most part they're ready to go and give you plenty of chance change and alter eveything to get the best results for you, i went from the 1.2x1.2x2 to a 2.4x1.2x2 and from here the list gets bigger, but i defo think indoors unless it's a permanent job grab a tent mate there piss easy to set up and you can't really go wrong

Hope this gives you some ideas, and good luck!
how many plants do you have in there?
