How early do you top?

Mine just hit maybe 3-4 weeks from seed, and started topping now, plan on topping as much as possible with another 6 weeks of veg. JW how early you guys start topping? I start as soon as it's possible.

I Fim once around 2 1/2- 3 weeks usually.

Last tent had 4 plants. Topped at 9 nodes giving me 18 branches on each.

This time I am trying a mainline technic. Topping at every 3rd pair to complete 8 - 16 branches on each plant.

5-7 nodes. I like to see healthy growth and good roots for faster recovery.

I typically mainline my photos so I don't want to slow down any more than I have to.

Because I have 8 foot ceilings and open bulbs

Already topped these today

When I do fem runs from seeds I like to top once then lollipop and keep them somewhat tight in the tents/area.

Seems like the yield is better per sq. ft. and buds develop more evenly this way. Instead of a plant topped more like a bush.

Haha that works too...I topped an auto at 11 days, it did not like it!

Try just stripping the top leaves off and watch how it starts to bush out without stressing them out. I don't know about autos really.

I topped my autos just before puberty (flowering) all good.

There's this cat that tops the hell out of his autos with excellent results.. Bill Ward is his name. Before catching this vid I was anxious about topping autos ..then I dropped on one of his vids and he was just going to town on them topping every freakn branch...

I really dont care what you do with you plants.... auto or photo.

I'm just here for the topping thread, just because your having a bad day doesn't mean I have to have one. I'm enjoying the rest of my day. peace.

I usually wait until the 7th node is perking through (usually start week three) and top back to the fifth node if doing autos, and photos usually just go outside and grow naturally.

I've only ever needed to top once to initiate side growth...here's a few that were topped at 5.
AK 420 auto (single in 2x4)

Blackberry gum and GDP auto ( two in 2x4)

GG auto (3x1.6)
