Reason I recommended the amount of CFM's I did is because my setup with a 250 hps, it hits 82-83 degrees in a similiar sized setup, with the ballast in the grow space. I replace my air every roughly 10 seconds......thats alot of fresh CO2 flying by, plants moving around constantly, doubel scrubbed...........yeah, you can stick your face in my exhaust and not know what is on the other side.

I was just making sure he didn't cut himself short and have heating/co2 problems. And with a 400watter in that small of a space, it's going to get hot especially if he puts the ballast in there as well.

Can't be too careful when you share walls with your neighbors..................

Not sure if its been mentioned, but if you are going hydro next round, temps will need to be in check. Depending on the hydro style, res temps should be below 70F. (flood and drain is probably the least picky about res temp) But higher res temps, aside from keeping roots warm, allows for pathogens to grow easier.

thanks DW4174

I'm using bubble buckets, and my ballast is outside my closet door, on the floor on top of a brick.

i cant wait to start hydro, prob around early September I will start.

Spandy dont get me wrong I had agreed with you but for that area I could not see the justification of spending the money. Also By moving so much air in so little time the plant many not have enough time to use the co2 in the air to its full extent. And I gree its best to keep the area cool in hydro setup but there is more than one way to do so.

If he is keeping his apartment in a cool condition or a lil cooler he should be just fine. And with the hydro water if sein the bubbles you can add the ice bottle method to cool the water or a small aquarium chiller for best temps. also using these mothods help the surounding temps and Increase oxygen avialible to the root system.

So ya, dont get me wrong, I belive your info did help our friend hotwheelszac in deciding what is best for him in his specific circumstances.

i pretty much figured out what im going to buy now. yesterday i took a trip to the local hydro shop. im going to get a cann fan, inline booster, and all the ducting. then just have one end suck air next to my 400 watt, and the other end blow out the window.

does anyone know any good website (with good prices) on hydro equipment? HTG supply is down for a while, i guess their moving.
