How long can a seed be left to germinate in a paper towel?

How long do you think a seed can be left to germinate in a damp paper towel sealed in a airtight container?

I found out something interesting. The other week i germinated 2 seeds, i then left them for 10 days(I totally forgot about them, hectic couple of weeks). When i remembered and opened the container there were 2 "seedlings", both with over 6" tap roots, cotyledons spread out, I found this amazing, there must be a lot of energy stored in a seed for it to grow to such a size. You could tell the seeds fought really hard to live.

Just thought i would share my findings with everyone as I'm sure someone can benefit from this information. Wish I took a pic to post up.

u can leave it til it rots, dries out, or the cotyledons require light really... best to not push it tho
