i haven,t watered for two days? was watering every other day, but will go with two days, with out water for now on. big plants where getting 6-7 gallons, and small ones got 5 gallons, in ground. soil mix is 50/ 50 native soil and kelloggs garden soil. SAM_4104.jpgIMG_20130629_074600.jpg might try 3 days? also read they grow faster with deep watering, and less watering

I do try to stretch the waterings when plants are in veg and building root mass. But i will water everyday if the plants need it.

But yes, deep waterings is my method also.

Have a great season!

lots o variables - how hot/windy will it be, what is the native ground they're in like? is it porous or clay? plants will go both longer than you can believe without water and wilt faster than you think they should if they are big enough and its hot out. and mulch mulch mulch. soak em' and let em' go 3 days if yer used to lettem go 2.

its different on the climate, ive went 2 weeks without it due to rocks on my soil sitting under the plant. keeps moisture in and makes a home for rollypollies, witch make tunnles and poop, making good air and nutes by nature

You can do a test. Water the plant well. Let it dry out until it starts to welt. Count the days. I have done this in the past. Each plant will be different. More so when in pots. I like to go as long as I can between waterings. MJ does not like wet feet. It like to spread it's roots looking for water. If they are soaked in water they do not need to seek water out. Sure sign of overwatering is when your leafs curl in and look like a claw.

Also remember temps change everything. So on hot days give them a good look over. There is times when I had to water daily in hot weather. I use lots of pelite though. My tip is to water less not more. Let the plants talk to you. This is easy in backyard not so easy in the brush. Clay soil to different types of potting soil to location and even full sun times will all have effects on watering needs.

Are you watering to much right now? If your leafs are sticking up soaking in the sun I would say no. If your plant looks droopy and the leafs curl in like a claw I would say yes to much water. Rule of thumb anyway. Lots of people overwater. More than you would think.

I was getting away with every other day... even still, though Im switching to every day right around now. Larger the plant gets the more water it needs NOW. But you are using 50/50 mix with clay, which will hold water way longer if you give it a good soak. I would have Tilled the whole area to about 2 1/2 ft deep and ammended the shit out of it just as the last frost was passing, damn that would be prime haha. nice plant tho btw.

don't know if anyone commented on this but 25 gallons a day seems like way to much. like wasted effort that's more than the plant could ever absorb. I do about 1 1/2 gallon each feedin and my plants are just as big as yours are
