it's 60-70 lumens for fluorescent lights per watt.
So, in accordance, that is 2,400 watt lumens per bulb.
between 7 and 10 thousand lumens is optimal grow conditions. So 4 of these would give me 9600 lumens per square foot.. correct? Which is more then optimal for the room i'm using which is 3 x 5 by 7 feet tall.
The 2 bulb shop lights are perfect for clones and new seedlings.I posted a how to convert a 4 bulb T8 commercial light fixture into a standard wall outlet cord so it can be used for vegging.I will add to that thread later on how to add another ballast in the single unit converting it from a 4 light setup to an 8 light setup so it will have eight 4 foot 40 watt bulbs in it. I bought the 4 bulb with reflector setup for $40 at homedepot and then the extension cord for $2.Heres a couple pics of it being used to veg some clones. These are around just under 2 weeks in these pictures and I raised it up to show the plants under it.There are 18 plants that were rooted clones in rockwool then in soil pots.If you had a small like 6x6 area you could do a dozen plants with about 11 or 12 of these setups all the way through but Id rather just use an hid light and these for side lights or vegging
