How my soil should be as soon as i harvest ?

so i was just wondering how is everyones soil when they pull they plant? moist? dry?

stop feeding ur plants like the last 2 to 3 weeks of flowering and just water.....chop it down when the soil is dry save u some time during drying also.....try to chop down when ts dark....when lights are out food does back down to the roots and when lights turn on all the food storaged at the bottom comes back up best to chop during lights out or right before lights turn on
 
i chop down dry, solely because its easier to clean up dirt on the carpet then it is to clean up mud on the carpet

Firstly 2-3 weeks of using plain water is gonna stress the hell out of your plant. If your growing in soil just reduce your feeding strength gradually over the last 3 weeks so you start the last week on just water if you plan on flushing.
I personally do NOT flush my plants.

The reason for chopping plants after a period of darkness is that THC breaks down in daylight and repairs during darkness. So you will have a SLIGHT increase in THC production after the prolonged darkness.

If you allow your plants to dry out before chopping it could speed up the drying time and cause a harsher smoke in the final product.

Alot of people are now started to try flooding the roots during the prolonged darkness. You literally drown the plants roots in water without the use of an airstone.

Do some more reading.

yes. this. all of it.

making your bud dry quicker is NOT what you want. you want to give enough time for an even dry. quick dried bud tastes and smokes like shit.

end of harvest flushing is something i will keep to myself about because it's a highly debated topic. i do not believe in it myself.

jon how about a dry top of soil but a little moist towards bottom!?! i dont want a harsh smoke i want a good club smoke
 
The best plants are the ones kept healthy until harvest. Just have your soil whatever way it needs to be to keep your plant happy.

Letting your soil dry out to shorten drying time is a bit of a myth too, if you let the soil dry out you'll kill root hairs and cause the plant to go into water retention mode closing its stomata, which is where water vapour is released from. By letting the soil dry out you may actually be INCREASING drying time.
 
thanksss alot for the post well im pulling them right now and the top of the soil is a little dry but a little moist towards the bottom is that ok ?

Yes that's ok. Like I said before people are now beginning to flood the roots for a couple of days at the end before they chop them as to help kick start the fermentation process. So a little moisture in the soil is ok.
