how to make it taste cleaner???

ok so i have been making cannabutter for a number of years now, i use a slow cooker aka crockpot i think they call them in the states, ive tried cooking it for all sorts of length of time but found 2hr on high 2hr on low works best for me anyway, but my butter just taste too weedy, using lemon cake mix's ive found helps disguise alot of that flavor of weed but how can i make the butter taste less weedy???

heres a pic of some of my butter, i use clarified butter also.

Not using plant matter helps a lot... I use hash oil when I make edibles.. I also use coconut oil cause its got a nice flavor and you don't have to wait as long for it to solidify, easier to work with

yeah i did think that maybe would be the main cause, i have mostly always made my butter with the sugar leaf trim from a harvest, im no great cook i just use the butter i make in cake mix'es brought from shops, how do u use the coconut oil? does it solidify? i make my butter with plant matter,clarified butter and water in the crockpot then strain through cheesecloth and wait for the butter to set on top of the water.

Yea that's what I meant by not having to wait as long to solidify/easier to handle.... coconut oil is a solid at room temp, throw it in the crockpot and treat it just like butter

This happens to be a subject that I have lots of experience in, and confidence in my methods.
(I have been told by many, that I make really good cookies)

This is a time tested, simple method.

First rule, never use any fan leaves, only close trim, larf or popcorn buds.

After you have your material selected, freeze it and grind it up in a coffee grinder. Not powdered, but finely chopped.

Next, fill a LARGE pot to the top with water, exact amounts dont matter, I use a large soup pot, with 1 or 2 gallons of water.

After your water reaches near boiling, turn the heat to LOW, add your butter, and herb. (1 ounce per 4 sticks butter)

Cover and simmer on low, (not boiling!) for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Let cool, and strain the water/butter into another container. Discard/compost the leaf material.

Now wait for the liquid to fully cool, and place in the refrigerator.

24 hours later, the butter/fat will have solidified at the surface, simply take it off, and throw out the water at the bottom of the pot.

Your finished butter should be a yellowish/lime green color, and taste very good, just a mellow hint of cannabis.

treat it just like butter also once done, i.e use the cococannbutter in receipes instead of butter like i have been doing? sorry for the noob Q's and thanks for the advice.

Right, the coconut oil can be used in the same proportions in most any recipe..if you know how many mg's it takes you to feel desired effects you can use the same ratio with coconut as any other oil, another reason hash oil is preferred, more accurate dosing....taking note different brands and products call for differing amounts of oil in the same amount of food

coconut butter is deffo my next run, been reading and looking into it for ages just wasnt to shore who its used, thanks people for the advice.

well i took advice from a few posts, and instead of plant matter i made a lot of cannabutter/cococannabutter with 40g of high grade hash, with the ghee i also added a large amount of coconut oil.

its my best butter ever, no weedy taste at all and it does not taste of hash either just taste of whatever cake,muffin,flapjack mix it has been cooked with yet gets you smashed lol

im very pleased with this batch and a big thank you to the people who gave me certain advice.
