How To Meet Fellow Growers?

The fact that I grow pot is a very private matter. I am so excited about what I do but I have no one to share it with. I live in a state where it is still not recognized as a useful product. How can I meet fellow growers? I know there are schools opening, anyone know of anything in NJ or NY?

Better off if you don't.. rule #1 don't tell anyone if you're not a legal card holder.

That is exactly what RIU forums are for. You can show off your plants, discuss your techniques, defend your techniques, etc. You can share you hobby with others, just do it here and be careful.

I was at a boarders store checking out the books and this dude starts talking to me like he knew me forever,telling me about his grow room etc. not a good idea.comeing here takes the edge off of wanting to share your grow with others that do the same,I have a life long friend that also grows and we are allways in compitition with each other to see who can grow the best smoke.I tell no one,the only thing is if you share your smoke over time someone will catch on that you grow your own and may even mention it to you but dont give in tell them you get it from a friend,my buddys are allways asking if my buddy has any smoke.I have been acused of being a grower but will never admit to it,actually over time it has become a game with my imaginary friends weed. loose lips sink ships my friend

yep RIU def does help, plus my mom tokes so i can talk 2 her about it cause i know she wont tell any1 although sometimes i get the feeling she could care less and just wants it 2 be done so she can get some free budz

also to comment on the OP, u may try joining ur local normal chapter but id still even be iffy about opening my mouth

You know what is more sad than that? The fact that there is a law against A FUCKIN PLANT!!!

Careful what you wish for.

Your efforts to connect with other growers may end up with you getting woken up at 5am by three guys with shotguns kicking your front door in. Despite saying "I'm going to sit right here, you guys can take whatever the fuck you want" I can tell you that this kind of experience is a very rude awakening from the delusion of I'm just a happy plant guy that everyone likes.

While most growers are pretty chill people and are trustworthy, the farther you go down the supply chain, the more this trustworthiness fades away. Stick to the forum my friend or limit yourself to relationships with one or two fellow growers.

I currently know that two of my friends are growers but they don't know I grow. I wold love to talk shop with them but until they tell me themselves, I'm not going there as I would have to out the people that told me. Plus, the situation only reinforces in my mind that once you let the secret out, its out for good and you will NEVER get it back.

Yeah, I normally talk with my gf or best friend about growing, he deals and will be buying most of my crop if it turns out good. Other than those two nobody is going to know and ill deny growing if asked

What this guy said... Find them on Face-book join go to their meetings and make new friends .

I talk to my wife even though she could care less, as long as the grass is green shes happy. But it does the trick when I need to get the ideas flowing. Other than that talk to NOONE. It's not just about getting busted as legallyflying said. Guys with ski mask and shotguns, or the guy that finds out and says "give me an oz a week or I'm gonna rat". And don't forget about "The Rule Of Two", for every one person you tell they tell two.

I believe in Jorge's book he says for every one you tell you can count on 10 people knowing.

Tell your girlfriends and lovers though cause I have scored some great deals on gear from growers that were having "fire sales" from pissed off women calling or threatening to call the police

and sno i also have one of those life long friends and we can get together and giggle like lil girls about the whole thing but other than him my dog and cat dont even know

HAHAHAHAHA... Aint that the truth... Girls care so little about your intrest in plants its not worth telling them... im sure mine would rather clean her toilette than hear my feelings or ideas about my plants

If you're fortunate to live close enough to a NORML chapter, than it is a great way to network and even meet fellow growers. NORML is great!
