How To Recharge Your Boveda Packs

Found a cigar website that explains 3 different methods to recharge Boveda packs...interesting but not definitive

Has anyone tried to recharge a Boveda pack?

If any of my paks start going crunchy, I just put them into a separate jar with a slice of apple or potato, or even a bundled up bunch of fresh cannabis leaves. Some of my paks I've had and am still using since 2014, and they work the same as when I first bought them. I never would have expected that when I first started using them.

I bought a 24 pack of the "Boost" packs to compare to Boveda

@BobBitchen ...thanks for the head-up on this Boost product

What I like about Boost:
* the price - bought 24 for $30 CND (Amazon.ca) ....they sent me bakers dozens, 26 total :)
* individually wrapped/sealed in good quality plastic
* each one comes with a "replacement indicator" ....time will tell if this worthwhile or not

What I like about Boveda:
* the size...the Boveda is square which fits perfectly inside the lid of the mason jar
Boost is more of a rectangle shape and doesn't fit as well on the mason jar lid....but I did trim one down to fit

So I did experiment on recharging my old Boveda packs

I found the best/easiest method was to wrap them in a wet paper towel (distilled water is a must), then leave for 2 days in a seal container

Then I would let the outside paper pouch to dry for about 2 hours before sealing them up in a ziplock baggie

I believe these are fully restore and as good as brand new, other than they still smell like MJ

cheers

I would think the idea would be to weigh either pack before using and write the weight on the pack eg. 5 grams then when you recharge them weigh again so you have the proper moisture in the pack. I here you can overcharge them and thus you may have a 67% boveda instead of a 62% boveda

So just out of curiosity I see some recharge their Bovida packs but has anyone done testing to make sure they are working properly and bringing RH down to listed amount? I know these come with different RH ratings so do we know for sure when recharged they have the same rating or has it altered it up or down?

I had never seen this "Boost" brand.....seems to be a better price point

Do you like them better than Boveda packs...if yes, why?
I use Integra boost packs. I find my weed just smells and tastes better with them.

the recharged Bovida packs seem to have the same RH rating as far as I can tell...no difference

I really don't see any functional difference between the Boost & Bovida and/or recharged Bovida packs

Cool, thanks. I know they use a specific blend of water and salt to get the correct RH so that is why I wonder. Seems like the recharge would mess up the ratio.so nice to know it doesn't
