I didnt read this whole thread but I saw some talk about all the clone shippers cuts are infected with HpLVd. Thats simply not true. Most of these cuts are breeder cuts purchased from clone vendors or shipped from friends i've met online. Some of them are from the big vendors like First Class genetics. All tested negative for HpLVd.

It would be super helpful for the community if you posted which cuts you had tested, when you purchased them, and from what vendor they were sourced it from.

One study found that if you break up infected cannabis there is the possibility of passing it along. I am a little confused by that being that the RNA can only last about 2 hours outside a living host I thought so not sure how it stays active in dried cannabis.
Wow 2 hours you're completely clueless as I already knew. Experts are saying weeks if not months... Ask some
.

oooo you again... bongsmilie Is it like spring time and the trolls are popping out today or something :bigjoint:

I don't claim to be an expert. Just relaying information from Dark heart.

There goes a link. Scroll down toward the questions on the bottom. Specifically to the question that asks "How long is HpLVd infectious on surfaces? "

Maybe you will be so kind to post the link to your sources of experts.... :blsmoke:

This thread is to share and review vendors, clones, tests, so that we can collectively help to stop the spread of Hpvld and source pathogen free genetics online.
I tested twice through Dark Heart. I had signs of HLV and knew I had it. I sent in 8 samples into Dark Heart they all came back negative. A month later I sent in 4 samples of the worst ones and again all came back negative. So now I am wondering wtf is going on, is Dark Heart just saying they're negative, are they really testing? So I send in 4 samples to Tumi Genomics and boom all 4 positive. And Tumi actually gave me the test results, the amount detected, not just a yes or no answer.. Anyone using Dark Heart I would retest through Tumi..

I have had samples come back positive through darkheart. Prevented a few testers from getting in to my garden. The testing can be finicky but with a month span you should have had full blown virus loads throughout the plant for the second round, unless your timing is off. Not sure why they didn't pick up on it. Could be the size of the plant etc.
I looked in to Tumi. They seem to be a little newer to the game. They also do covid testing lol. I may give them a try with a few samples. For Hplvd not covid...

These mostly were 6-8 month old mother plants. I have a buddy that also got back a positive from them. But when 12 out of 12 tests came back negative from them and 4 out of 4 came back Positive from Tumi that's no coincidence..

Could have just been the latency of the areas that you took samples from. Not saying you can't get a false negative but hard to knock dark heart when they have been leading the industry in identification of the virus and so many others put their assurance in them.

Every noob fs up their plants and blames some virus. Lol. I've been growing for almost 20 years. Never seen it never even heard of it until the industry blew up. Sounds like some scam to me. But hey if you wana see your plant doesn't have some virus go ahead and blow a bunch of money for nothing I guess lol. You could just send me half and I'll tell ya its neg and I won't be lying! Save you some coins!!!

Consider yourself lucky. The virus is real. Many of us have seen it in our own gardens. It isn't grower error.

Viruses exist in other plant species, why wouldnt they exist in cannabis?

The samples I sent in had a higher viroid load in the strains that finish and grow worse, the strains that still grow decent with acceptable quality had a lower viroid load, it's no scam..

I know you can get false negatives. But when 12 out of 12 come back negative (allegedly) from one lab and 4 out of 4 come back positive from another lab that's more than just chance. Also regarding Dark Heart leading the industry a close personal friend received a HLV infected cut from them and I've heard from several others that I'm not as close to similar stories, some were from tissue cultures.

I partnered with a local DNA lab and get hplvd testing really fast and pretty inexpensively. There's no way Dark Heart or Tumi could do it this cheap. They also do fingerprinting for me as well.

I never tell my clients that one hplvd-free test means you have a clean plant. The stone fruit industry considers stock clean with 5 hplvd-free tests per year. I work hard to get people on a 60 day test cycle. The word latent is in the name for a reason.

As for clone shippers posting their negative test results I would probably ask for the past few cycles to show they are testing regularly. Man, especially for the prices some of those folks charge for a $20 dispo clone.

A lot of bad information going on about this virus. There is no need for continued testing over an elongated period unless you are unsure of your controls. If you test a full room of mothers out multiple times over a 3 month period with no infection then that room is basically cleared. The latency lasts 2 months at most. That is an extreme as well just for conservatism. Once that area is cleared then there is no way it can be introduced other than by human error. This virus is not transferred as easy as we are making it out to be. It must be physically applied to the plant.
Bleach tools
Wash hands
Quarantine and test new cuts before they come in to your mother room.
I put all this in another thread they deleted calling it spamming.

Once you have done this, what vectors could the virus possibly enter your garden??

You can test periodically at that point just for reassurance. Darkheart tests continually because they bring in new strains often and their workers work with them and two they have a large pool of workers who may or may not always follow operating procedures so they need to test to double check. As an individual in a garden though who is the lone worker and the only vector for anything, it is easier to control making sure you always follow procedure.
