Lemon, Youre so stupid. OF COURSE THEY GROW THEM. Everyone knows that lights are grown on trees, and that there is a massive government hush hush conspiracy to make us think they are produced in a factory. Get a grip on reality.

Theres a diagram on the side of the transformer that shows how to connect these up.If you can't read the diagram (it's schematic) you probably would be better off buying it pre wired though, it is possible to screw up. $52.00 for a 400 watt kit isn't cheap either.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of, or could post, instructions on turning one of these things into a working system, for those of us who know less than nothing about electricity and wiring. For my next HID system it would be rad not to pay a billion dollars if one can be made cheaply!

B400HPS-5 - High Pressure Sodium Ballast Kits Multi-Tap - Ballast Kits - Lighting - USA Light & Electric
that is what i have,, and yes,, they can be a pain in the ass to wire
i will give you a pic of what mine looks like and i will work on a quick diagram for you

sorry bro,, i was starting to draw a simple wiring diagram for you but it ended up being wayyyy to complicated.... i would reccomend a prewired ballast if you can,, the only reason i went the way of an unwired one was because i know a thing or two about wiring diagrams... and it still took me a good hour to figure it out.... i dont know what will happen if you wire it wrong but i sure wouldnt want to find out... maybe someday if i have some extra time i will write a DIY for wiring ballasts... but right now i dont want to unwire my ballast to give you the proper step by step instructions on how to do it... i will see if i can get a better pic and label it for you... every ballast will have a different way of labelling their wires so bear with me.... mine uses words such as Cap and Com with X1, X2, or X3 preceding it. also with a multi-tap,, like i have,, you wont be using all of the wires... i am assuming you will be wiring it to 115V so thats what i will go with

i know it looks like a mess but thats what it is,, a mess of wires... see if you can follow the wires,, im sure you can get some idea off this picture,,

Once you got the bulb the socket and the reflector, plus $54 what is the final cost for the whole deal?

i came across that diagram when i was wiring mine... i found the electrical diagram to be more helpful,, just because my ballast is different than that one it got confusing.... mine has more wires thats for sure.. the diagram on the ballast will show you how to wire the exact ballast you are sitting in front of... if you buy it and take a pic of the wiring diagram i can give you some advice and tell you what things mean... just PM me if you ever buy one and need some help..

to complicated to be made douche-bag, obviously they are...
your the douche here, you misinterpreted the OP, and took what he clearly meant by saying how to wire together a ballast, socket set, and reflector to light bulb, as thinking that he meant how to Literally build a ballast.

then you call somebody a douche bag.

You are displaying ignorance and arrogance sir.
