Problem : I recently bought a new reflector and my HPS bulb worked in it for about a week and now it does nothing , my MH bulb still works in it , i checked the bulb in my old reflector and it works i can not for the life of me figure out what is wrong

if any one could help me out that would be awesome

Facts : Ballast 400w Lumatek digi Ballast

New Reflector Goldstar 125mm HID Reflector

Old Reflector common cooltube

Both HPS and MH bulbs are 400w

Make sure that the center contacts are touching only thing I can think of or try swapping the bulb holder from your old reflector to the new reflector

sounds like the ignitor is blown on the ballast. HPS require an ignitor hence thats why your MH works which MH does not require an ignitor.

This is it. If it's switchable the switch might be dirty or some other bad connection. I'm sure that like anything electronic the ignitor can go but I feel that is not likely. You can go MH on the ballast and wire an external ignitor or go superace hps, or get a new ballast. I'm not sure yet if CMH has its own ignitor but being a MH it should.
