people need to be educated before they can sell the herb!

and if one more person tells me they get alaskan thunder fuck, im gonna chop heads, it aint no thunder fuck! its regular good weed, and i aint buyin it for $25g no matter what strain you say it is!

Hmm.. Ocean Forest is made out of compost, loam, and peat..... none of which are technically "soil" despite the fact that it's called potting soil. Growing in a soilless mixture can be considered "passive hydroponics", right?

I don't think the people where I live actually think the strain name is hydro. I think they understand that it means it was grown hydroponically but what they don't get is that doesn't mean it is any better than other bud. Just the opposite in fact. The same strain grown side by side in soil and hydro will taste better in soil. The only reason people think hydro is so great is because people IN GENERAL grow better genetics in hydro. A hydro grow is most likely not gonna use commercial strains but a large percentage of soil-grown weed is inferior genetics.

but hydro involves more than simply growing in a technically soil less medium no?
NO, soiless is considered hydro. It's a very vague term. I grow in spaghnum moss. Looks like soil, smells like soil, but it's hydro.

why dont u just leave the ignorant alone? they do not GROW pot they sell it, of course they wouldnt know wtf dro is or what it even meant. and u come off like a smartass trying to explain to them, and then get them thinking that YOU grow. and u dont know what people will do to get what u have. alot of growers have DIED because of someone who wanted some pot and just said ef it and went and robbed em, shot n killed them, just for a little bud. so i suggest u just leave the ignorant alone.

agreed there also

But just to be clear, youd consider someone growing in a commercial potting soil that is technically soiless to be a bonafied hydro grow?

The really fuckin funny thing is your "soil" is actually a hydroponic, soiless medium. You are smoking "dro" my fiend.
i dont get this one??

how is soil a soiless medium. That makes no sense at all unless you have a super high iq that understands what you said and i dont have a iq high enough to understand what you meant.

well said sir

i hate when people say "dro"

are you too fucking lazy to pronounce 2 letters?

honestly, when i buy weed, i really dont give a rats ass what the medium was

all i care about is

does it look bomb?

does it smell like bomb?

is the price consistent with the quality?

if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck....its a duck....not a dro
dro is just another name for hydroponically grown marijuana

Well, I can only say from experience, weed is weed, no matter how ya grow it. I don't think soil is better than hydro for flavor or strength of buds. I can grow superb buds in hydro that people think came from soil. The secret is to know what the hell you are doing. I have grown for over 20 years, I know what the hell I am talking about. If idiots want to say dro, go right ahead... I just will keep it to myself that the person is a fucking idiot.

I might have to make a new strain and call it Dro, it already has a huge following, LOL.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I live in an area where the general population is clueless when it comes to marijuana. I can't count how many times I have heard an idiot refer to any high grade weed as "hydro" or "dro" (even worse) even though they have no idea what medium and/or method it was grown in. I always do my best to correct them politely by saying something along the lines of, "You can't be too sure that it's actually hydro unless you knew it wasn't grown in soil, my friend." to which they usually reply with something along the lines of, "But this is some killer shit, man. That means it's hydro!"

It may not mean much to some of you, but this type of ignorance infuriates the shit out of me and I am normally a pretty laid back guy. The strains I grow (all in soil, mind you) are some of the best I have ever had and when people refer to my weed as hydro it makes me want to puke. I urge you all so correct the uneducated.

Just because it's killer weed and covered in trichomes does NOT mean it's hydro.

Okay, my rant is over. Time to smoke some "soil." (See how stupid that sounds?) :weed:
i would have to agree.

90% of the " gangster " population seems to think this..
