i am a newbie with extracts, questions for the pro's????

ok so i am a newbie with all this extraction thing so i would like to get a few tips n pointers from the pro's out there if at all possible..

1- whats the proper or close to proper amount to use when making iso wash.( 1/4 oz of bud to iso? ) it seems like a lot of waste to get very little product..

2- what kind of return should i be getting from say 1/4 oz of bud?? i am using 99% iso frozen in the deep freezer for a week with my bud and jars. using standard coffee filters 3 per strainer.. using griddle with the temps at 125 ish..witch leads to next question.

3- what are the proper temps to run my griddle with my pyrex plates on them??
-B -- does temp make a difference if its done by heat or just evaporated..

4 - what are the best extracting fluids to use?? iso, butane, hexane ??? any others that are better then the other??

i have watched video's and read all kinda threads so i figured i would ask some of the riu crew about there advice tips and pointers.
thank you for all input.. just want to get this down to a science with the least amount of work and the best product..

Try a little test, run your product and put half in a Pyrex over the griddle and half to be evaporated without heat.. Mind u it will take a little for the one without heat, but I think it will give you your best idea of which method is best for you

As for what to extract with.. Stick to ISO for a few washes and step it up from there.. Record numbers for all your batches and look for improvement on final yield.. Good luck brother

started on that thread ,that's where i got all my idea's to start with..most deff. a great thread to get a great idea on how to do a good wash.. just seems like a lot of waist to get a lil product.. is there a ratio on the return from an iso wash?? i have done a few kinds with different product like trim vs bud and doing 99 vs 91 iso...whats the difference of butane vs iso?? is the end product the same?? why is it that sometimes my product comes out and gets like shatter then some turns out like a wax type? why did it turn out two different ways with the same product??
