FWIW, here's my ultimate grow setup that I proposed for someone else in another thread:


Secret Jardin DRT90 tent - $170
Botanicare Econojet Ebb and Flow 2' x 2' - $250
Quantum Growzilla lighting system, consisting of:
1000/600 and 400 Watt Quantum digital ballasts,
both 600 Watt HPS and 400 Watt MH bulbs,
Hydrofarm dual bulb reflector - $660
Reflector heat shield - $60
Can Fan 6'' HO centrifugal fan - $190
Can-Filter 50 - $180
Dayton 6'' axial fan - $75
GH dual diaphragm air pump & two Alita disc diffusers - $80
Sedra G-300 needle wheel water pump - $60
Sentinel MDT-1 timer - $200

Total: $1,925 (approximate)


Also, remember to factor in the additional costs like panhead mentioned earlier...

^and that's just getting by. You want to do things right the first time and be hassle-free, then you're looking at a figure more closer to $500 (a good combo meter will cost ya) for all of the extras - and that's still leaving out quality seeds.

@JJ - it looks close to what I have now, I think I am going to try and set that up for my next grow.

I wouldn't go hydro first time, go soil, its more reliable and flexible for first timers, or at least that's what I've been told.

Only thing I'd do differently would be swapping out those two bubble buckets in favor of Waterfarms, that is provided of course you have the extra cash on hand.

One more bit of advice on seeds - seriously take a good look at Gage Green Genetics Bright Moments (Grapestomper x Grapestomper OG). As of right now they're still available on Attitude. Only reason is because most of us on this forum are completely spent after their recent 4/20 promotion. Otherwise I guarantee you they'd already be long gone, just like every other notable GGG drop!

Hey JJ....

I was looking at the pic you posted.....and I see that the air pump is on the floor between the buckets....To avoid damage to the pump from water, I would recomend rising the pump above the buckets to avoid water siphoning down to your pump if the power turns off....I know people that have ruined there air pump for that very reason.....just my two cents..........nitro......

Once again, not my pic nor setup. But yes... if you're gonna run an air pump lower than the rez like that you'll definitely need to be using one-way check valves.

2 plants at most of good genetics. I could smell mine outside my house with all windows/doors closed!

After reading up and lurking on this forum I think I'm gonna go ahead and buy A Hps/MH grow system since I don't have to worry about money as my main priority.

You need to worry about STEALTH and then some in the state which you reside! That should be your 1st and foremost concern from your 1st step! Just a recommendation.
