all i can say is try it man ..... they need nitro dont get me wrong but thats really cramming it to them ..... is that a lowes product ? maybe i can find it locally and play with it i would know in a week or so by how seedlings acted
Lowes and Home Depot has it...a lot of people it's one of the best soil for the money. At $5-6 a bag and none of that liquid filled time release bs. It has really good additives as well. But I know a lot of perlite need to be added....

I just read a guy thread who did a few berry Ryder he did a soil mix. I didn't see how he had def from adding peat moss and not cal mag...he pull a zip per plant...not badimage.png

it has to be completely mixed or the roots will find hot spots and your plant will have random burns ..... half and half is still 15/5/5 not including whatever you cut it with if not inert ...... i run about 7-5-6 in veg and 5-4-8 in bloom base nutes in almost inert mix
So the soil I'm using right now for the berry Ryder is logged. It's not drying out at all. It's been days since I watered last. What can I do now to help this problem. I was thinking drilling holes without going to deep so I wouldn't hit any roots

How big are the plants? I plant straight to big containers and they might not need watering the first 2-4 weeks. No joke. As long as its not muddy or soupy you will be fine.

More air movement will help. A small fan blowing on low across the soil will dry them faster.

The biggest is 24 inches....I went out today and doubled the drain holes in the totes. Its outside I could put a fan just would be strange...it's been pretty windy so I don't know20160707_150436.jpg

The tallest plants are the youngest...I like how they are vegging. Not sure what they getting that allow them to get bigger...I believe because they are a week older they weren't effected during the heat wave we have a few weeks ago

Lol. I missed the outside part.

If they are holding water and your having heat waves then it might be a good thing.

I use Promix hpcc. High porosity with coco coir chunks. I also add in 25% perlite. Indoors in 5 gallon air pots my plants dry out in 36 hours even with a higher humidity of 60%. soil is one place I don't cheap out on. The plants live in it for 60-80 days. Watering issues are usually associated with the soil and how breathable it is. Like coco you water every day because the plants can still breath. If a grow shop sells it I'm usually comfortable buying it. If lowes sells it then i use it for tomatoes.

that organic choice is some pretty good stuff ..... not gonna get some banging yields from it but i didnt do too bad with it .... @Seedlin didnt like it i think he has some numbers on it compared to coco .... i mix coco with it and perlite and start feeds around week 2-3 and dont do too bad i guess always get a couple zips and plenty of shit for oil out of a 3 gal ..... im really diggin this sensi bloom ph perfect ..... im not following the directions at all but last couple rounds had bookoo nodes all 2-3" apart tit high plants pretty much .... think this will be the 4th time ive recycled the same mix just add some jobes organic feed, some lime and hit it with a light humic when i plant the seed , just water for a couple weeks..... stuff like the organic choice (and i did look at the kellog's i didnt buy any since it looked alot like the organic choice)
still needs to break down ..... stuff like ffof is more composted to feed you plant now and not later on in a 3-4 month season ..... honestly if you recycle what you have now and just add some lime after a good flush you may very well have what your looking for already :)

OK I'm gonna give it a shot. I just wish I remember what I used for thsee totes...I might have stated it in my thread...most likely I did use the kellogs patio plus...I buy the busted bags and get them 75% off. Not the best idea if using them for inside but can be done if using d.e. mixed in....I'm going to have to give my roots more room so maybe a half bag each tote. And add more perlite. I don't believe I need lime but I'm going to need nitro. I like how fast the blood meal worked for my corn watermelons...it was a chance over night. So I might try that or look for some worm

Only I'll effect I'm having on my plant as of now is on the leaves that touch the totes...it's burning them which is not so bad I don't think...I have to check the price on lime around here......I called my hydro shop and asked a price for a bag of happy from. $13 lol. Nope I'm cool. The most I paid was $10 but that was on the other side of the bay...about an hour drive...

@tekdc911 so it's can actually be a good thing to recycle soil cuz it's has broken down...so that would mean I could have a lighter mix now? And just add things to improve it...maybe I shouldn't add any more soil but rather just perlite, peat moss and lime. Much cheaper as well

Better pick up more than one bag to make the hour trip worth it.

Would still need to add perlite or something for drainage. It will be lighter and less rich but it will also hold water like a sponge and you would need to feed .... But thats normal I guess

Yeah I know about the feeding. I'll just have to watch it and see what happens. I do know of a place that might sell the h.p. For $10 and again I wouldn't be buying that much if I mixed it what I have and a big bag of perlite which about $20 at Home Depot.....have you guys ever ran pyramid seeds auto...I'm eye balling them right now

I'm sticking to Dinafem and mephisto from now on. Most others I ran have been inconsistent. This is my second run doing Girl Scout cookies the first run was great this run I'm debating on making hash or oil with half the plant. Vast and fast also took a shit this run. But again Dinafem was epic. I weighed one bud that was 32 grams alone dry and there are atleast 5 more the same size one one plant. I may mess with 1 different strain per run but never doing as many as I did this time.
