Make it to where someone can click a link and you'll have better luck....if its cfl just get ysplitters and plug em into an extension cord you can fit 6 bulbs easily on 1 8 outlet cord..... put up pics

If you just want to add a plug end by cutting an extension cord, you have to drtermine polarity is correct. On an extension cord the the big bladed side is negative, the smaller bladed side is positive. Most cords have a white striped wire(positive) and a plain wire usually with ribs or ridges on it(negative) If your using the orange cords with a grounded plug(green),just make sure you make all connections properly.LET SOMEONE ELSE PLUG IT IN FIRST:shock:GL.

Im not an "ELECTICIAN" but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Sorry, not an electrician, but I have a diploma in electronics, maybe that'll convince you?

From the look of that one sticker, green = ground, black = hot, neutral = white, and grey/red is what you use as a switch to turn the ballast on or off. To use the plug as a switch, or with a timer, just connect it to neutral.

So strip the female end of an extension cord or whatever, unscrew the loose end of the wires from the yellow connector, and follow the colors. Connect the green to the ground on the cable with a marette (orange caps with conductive threading on the inside, get the right gauge, and tape over it once it's tight). Then if you can, use a DMM or ohmmeter to check for continuity between the ground and the housing of the ballast. It should be a few ohms or less. If you can't check this, check that the green wire on the inside is actually connected to the metal housing of the ballast (it should be). Just in case!
