I think i dried my buds too much on accident

i had a bunch of buds i layered into a box with newspaper about 2 weeks ago, the first week they weren't drying at all and i hardly noticed any difference, i left it without checking probably the past 3 days and now they are dry as hell!

i chopped the buds and put them in a jar to try and keep the moisture in since these buds will have to last me a very long time.

do ya think they will they recover? or have any other idea's to help me out?

here's a pic, they actually look ok in the pic, but if i touch them they pretty much crumble.

you can crumble them into a bowl, and they will burn up really fast, just try not to use direct flame, aka vaporize and you will get optimum results

wrap a cotton ball in several layers of aluminum foil.

flatten it into a round circle.

poke several holes thru it with a needle.

squeeze it under running water to wet the cotton.

remove from running water and squeeze out ALL excess water.

drop foil "button" into your bag of over dried meds and seal.

check every few hours then remove when desired moisture level is achieved.

:)

They don't look like they're too dry...just keep em in the jars. I like bone-dry bud better than bud with moisture anyhow...trichomes fall off from even the lightest touch but dry bud still owns lol.

You may also add a little lettuce to the bag ..or a orange peel ... I'd still smoke it .. Good luck

BTW .. How could you go 3 day's without thinking about your budds? I cant go 15 min without at least thinking about them..?

i tried using orange peel/ lime peel/ potato peel... this has proved to cause mold for me..... i wouldnt recomend it... but ive never tried the cotton ball method... one would think that by poking small holes that you have much more leniancy with exposure time. the peels are loaded with water. it doesnt take long for that to over wet your buds

you've all got it wrong except for cottonwool and tin foil person. the best way to rehydrate buds is to put some apple peal in with them for around 12 to 24 hours just make shore that you shake it all up and mix it about every couple of hours or you'll end up with some really dry buds and some really damp ones. after about 12 hours (depends on the amount) you'll have some beautiful plump buds for smoking and they smell sort of appley. enjoy!!

by the way if you don't take the peal out after 24 hours the buds WILL go mouldy. its a fine line. don't cross it mate.

i dont know if you have been reading this thread or just the replies... but he is experiencing buds that are too dry BEFORE curing.. the fruit peel method is no good in this situation ... you are SURE to get mold.... just go with what FDD suggested... he's an O.G. Gangsta lol

not sure what your reading mate. i'm just gonna say that there's no way his buds were that dry before curing or the plant was dead for a long time. personally i think that the cottonwool and fruit peal methods will physically work the same. in both cases you will have to remove the sorce of the moisure after a few days or it will cause mould. so stop being negative mate, have an open mind, or are you afraid of the strain? :peace:

I like fdd's idea.....cool....thanks man......I have also put a fresh small cut bud in with the dry ones, and they exchange moisture, and all is well.

now theres an idea.. that one i would probably favor more than any mentioned... but if you dont have a fresh cut bud at disposal then my first alternative would most likely be FDD's method
