ideal time to top???

hey guys im wondering when or if i should top my plants??? there four inches right now pretty dam bushy tho...this is my 1st grow i would love if someone could maybe give me a run down on when and HOW to top my plants please thank you for your time guys

how to top plants:cut above desired node
when to top plants:when they reach the 5th or 6th node
topping is very helpful in maintaining an even canopy and height control

you dont have to top at the 2nd node. but you will read that somewhere around here.

Cut just above the 2nd true node for 2 or 4 main colas. You dont have to, but from what i read its the best technique to topping because of the possibilty of 4 main colas.

cut above the 2nd true node when 5- true nodes have developed. you should see new growth where topped within 24hours.

Uncle Bens topping technique is the best read to learn about topping. you can always experiment with different methods, and see which one you like best.

but IMO Uncle bens way is the way to go.

well my plants are young and are only 4 inches and are on there 5th node is that normal?

for the 1st almost 3 weeks i was without proper lights and soil...(2700k lights ) but well they had a rough time and now the bounced up and are doing amazingly better

yes, that means they are getting decent light that keeps them growing short and strong rather than weak light which makes them tall and weak.

sorrry 1st grow just scared hahaa

scared to ? top it....i topped one at first node just to see what it will do...it is fine....looks weird but it is still growing.

it is a weed and as long as it is green and healthy it should be ok! as long as you don't make it look like this...topped seedling!

id go for it as long as the 4th nodes look
good with fresh shoots sprouting out
