actually i stand corrected, social security IS currently adding to the Deficit, and thus, the Debt. the payroll tax reduction (Boooosh) and it's extension (Bwana Obama) have already pushed SS expenditures far beyond the level of SS tax revenue, thus the SS deficit is being filled through General Fund monies, which is increasing the national Deficit which increases the Debt.
"Social Securitys total expenditures have exceeded non-interest income of its combined trust funds since 2010, and the Trustees estimate that Social Security cost will exceed non-interest income throughout the 75-year projection period. The deficit of non-interest income relative to cost was about $49 billion in 2010, $45 billion in 2011, and $55 billion in 2012. The Trustees project that this cash-flow deficit will average about $75 billion between 2013 and 2018 before rising steeply as income growth slows to the sustainable trend rate after the economic recovery is complete and the number of beneficiaries continues to grow at a substantially faster rate than the number of covered workers. Redemption of trust fund asset reserves by the General Fund of the Treasury will provide the resources needed to offset Social Securitys annual aggregate cash-flow deficits. Since the cash-flow deficit will be less than interest earnings through 2020, reserves of the combined trust funds measured in current dollars will continue to grow, but not by enough to prevent the ratio of reserves to one years projected cost (the combined trust fund ratio) from declining. (This ratio peaked in 2008, declined through 2012, and is expected to decline steadily in future years.) After 2020, Treasury will redeem trust fund asset reserves to the extent that program cost exceeds tax revenue and interest earnings until depletion of total trust fund reserves in 2033, the same year projected in last years Trustees Report. Thereafter, tax income would be sufficient to pay about three-quarters of scheduled benefits through 2087"

Fog, unlike you, I don't look for all the bad in America, there is bad in every country.
I thank God every day I was lucky enough to be born here. I look at all the good in this country, I don't ask for handouts, I put myself through college, worked my ass off, saved and invested, I love this country and it's opportunities.
And yes I have been to other countries, we own property in Roatan, I've traveled to S.America, every country in Central America except Panama.

segregation, unequal access to opportunity based on race, institutional racism, grandma in the poorhouse, anti-miscegeny laws, child labor, lack of worker rights, workers burning up in unsafe factories with no fire escapes and locked doors, women unable to vote, blacks de facto not allowed to vote, california and phoenix were still deserts, alcohol prohibition...

I'll agree with you that any "society" that allows slavery or elements that mimic slavery would not be "successful", in the sense that it fails to protect an individuals right to choose their own path. Funny that we agree that "slavery" is bad, yet you seem to embrace things that take away an individuals right to choose their own path.
Why do you say one thing, slavery is bad, then embrace something very similar ? Slaves have their choices taken away, free people don't.

Even if you're right, and Social Security has been adding to the DEFICIT since 2010 (those figures are less than 2% of the deficit for those years) his claim about 60% of the DEBT is still ridiculous.
Not that I think you're right, but you might be.
I have not confused debt with deficit. If a thing does not add to deficit, it can not add to debt.
