Illumitex led yields

I just bought a new illumitex neosol led 520 watt. I have been trying to find peoples grow logs/journals to see what people are pulling with this light. From the inforamtion that i do see is that this light does the job that it claims to do, but this is from only about 3 underdetailed grow logs/journals. Im just trying to see if anyone on riu here can share some info about the light regarding the use and yield that has been had with this LED.

Try to find the actual ppf of the light. If i recall it was somewhat intermediate in efficiency

it looks like the one you have is 1.6 umol/J. as for your latter question it depends how hard you run each one. they can be anywhere from 1.4-2.2 umol/J at system level.

in your case you should be able to hit close to 2 units with your setup in a well maintained garden. the umol/J is a little less than DE HPS but the spectrum should make up for that

How would i change the umol/J output of this light so i can run it at 2 at least

again you cant, because they are merely a component and can be used at a huge range of efficiencies. same as the individual diodes in the illumitex ficture
 
@Sirpotsalot I was actually referring to @CobKits post... He said that illumitex LEDS are intermediate... So im just wondering what rating he would give Vero 29 SE, and Citi 1212...
From what i understand, cree cob such as the cxb 3590 are pretty much top of the line right now. From what ive been gathering the last few days about illumitex is that they are middle of the road of the higher end LED fixtures. I was able to find two very detailed grow logs on people soley using this light. The yields they are pulling are right around 1.3-1.5 grams per watt in a very dialed in setting.

@CobKits i am going to be installing a manual dimmer on this light, which they usually come with anyway. I will be putting this light in a 4x4x6 flowering tent. I assume i will be running it at full power.

One of the pros of this light i have noticed is that it has a more efficiently evened out footprint than many other lights. Because the fixture is 4ftx2ft the light gets spread out evenly. The 830 average ppf is solid when it is spread out over a 4x4 area. Many other leds ive noticed have a strongly grouped together set of leds, and when people are showing off how strong the light is, its actually over a pretty narrow field.

well not exact enough for people here...i made a bunch of ppfd readings..then went fishing

iended upusing the 3 x 4 grid at 8"

i am about to post a revamp of the 4ft x 4ft frame with 29 x 70w aluminum strips..i think willhook up each 13 strips to a 250w driver...

From what i understand, cree cob such as the cxb 3590 are pretty much top of the line right now.
it was at one time but its current design is a bit dated. there are about half a dozen cobs in its price range that are more efficient and another half-dozen cheaper chips with same efficeincy (and a few that are both substantially cheaper and more efficient)

seems about right. its a respectable light but a notch below fluence etc.

seems like an easy dim.

if you really want to jam on efficiency id intersperse the rows of leds with 4' samsung strips run soft. you should be able to bump up the efficiency to over 2 umol/J and the white combined with their purple spectrum should crush.

It would be nice to get some penetration power with some intense white light. Mixing that with a little blurple might just be the ticket.

theres quite a few threads on the various hard strips, im really not up to speed on their specs

It would be nice to get some penetration power with some intense white light. Mixing that with a little blurple might just be the ticket.
penetratiopn isnt really a function of spectrum but more so the intensity of light and how far above your canopy you hang it

Im actually just going to invest my time in building another cob led. I was looking at some designs by growmau5 and they seem pretty straight-forward.

Being so new to leds however, im having a hard time finding a price range it would cost to build one that would sufficiently light a 4x4 area. There are so many options.
