Thank you! Yeah from my understanding light rails are efficiency neutral, but they certainly come in handy when it comes to consistency. This way I feel that I may be able to maximize photosynthesis potential in the chloroplasts without burning them out due to constant exposure. It's all theory until the grow continues, but I like how my plants are responding currently. They are putting out large praying leaves, this may simply be from transplant explosion though. Ever since I started my current soil recipes I've only had plants loving transplants. Thanks for stopping in :)

NEXT TIME: My mobile photon cannon gets a few upgrades, and the room gets wrapped up!

Righty plant, light on the left side:( sadly I dropped a light on her and now she's a bit injured. I will have to wait a few days extra for healing now :(

I took the last picture first, but I'm not doing any more shooting tonight so it will have to do. You can see the difference that putting up reflective material makes. Unfortunately getting the room set up has cost my girls two half days of light, but from now on they are going to get pampered. Right now I'm using panda film because it's cheap and light tight. Next run I will make some updates, but for now I am fine with the results I'm getting. Keep it real guys. I'm going to get a tripod so that I can take enough shots to make a gif sometime soon. Damn I'm tired.

It's hard to see, but I did use foil tape to tape them down, but the corners need a little TLC. The room itself is wrapped with a 9-12 inch overlap on all sides, plus the window in the room has been sealed off aside from a vent that is redirected downwards and light tight once the timer turns it off. FranJan if you are ever in Colorado let me know. I'll give you a nug for the reflector idea ;) I'm thinking that I will switch by Sunday. Here's some pictures of her after her daily training. These girls are freaking out and growing huge leaves and tight nodes, something that I love to see before flowering a plant. This is probably the second to last time I will do any twisting on the stems. From here on out I will be "leaning" the plants by placing restraints to bring the colas in line with 45 degree angle to promote growth on the inner shoots. They will probably get done with my leaning by about 7-14 days into fruiting, depending on the cola and how the plants decide to stretch obviously.

Guys I'm so happy with this clone. Everyday after working with it my fingers are covered in resin, it will be exciting to see how she turns out in the end, but so far this Neon Kush is pretty damn fun to play with. I'm going to finish up some work in the veg tent. Stay frosty gents.

Last Day of Veg: This is it! I'm going to switch to weekly posts during flowering to get a good look at the progress. She'll get bent down after 3-6 days of flowering and then in about 2 weeks I will put up the net and give each cola the appropriate space. They are both looking great!

I'll be placing another plant in the center of the tent because I don't think that these two will cover this space evenly enough. So far so good. My St. Bernard ate my stash though so it looks like I have to gate off my own grow room. That fucker ate 50$ worth of weed in the middle of the night, found our chocolate covered pretzels and ate those, and then once we woke up and discovered this he decided to throw up all over the carpet. This has been a great day indeed.

I decided to add in one more photo session today. Here's the room with the new plant in the center. Second to last photo is of a typical teen clone whose ready to enter her own flowering space, the plant I introduced into the room looked almost the same before I bent her to my will. Last photo is of our new plant : CENTERY! Lefty, righty, and centery has a nice ring eh?

Using the fan gives the light dual utility as it blows down large leaves exposing lower growth and foliage to light. I know that I have a rats' nest above my light and I will be taking the light down tomorrow to clean her up a bit. In a few days I will be building a my second cannon to add into the room and I will outfit these lights with some DIY reflectors. These lights are lite as hell from the plastic and pc heatsinks, but eventually I plan on re-mounting the whole thing on rigid plastic and aluminum sheeting so that I can ditch the fans and use an inline cooling system.

Total wattage of light in the 4x8=~675.2watts There is a lot more wattage being used by the room ~10w per Spectra, the light rail is 5.5w, and about 23w for the photon cannon fan, so a total of 68.5 extra watts. The room is running at 743.7 but I will run just over 1100w by the end of flowering. I will probably add my two bloom boosters and some small T-5 UVA bulbs near the end of flowering for at least 75 more watts but a majority of the grow will be less than 1000w. I may build a 730nm flowering initiator for the room as well. I would like to get the early yields that some people have been claiming on this forum.

Here she is in action, it's mesmerizing to watch.The light only bounces back and forth in the 5 feet at the center of the room.

I have had excellent results with my light mover in the past in the veg room, and I think that it will work out splendidly in the flowering cabinet. I think that this may be an opportunity to really stretch the limits of how close you run your lights, I think that if I can keep the lights fairly low but with enough spread to cover 3/4th of the room I will be able to push huge light intensity without burning out the chloroplasts. We'll see, maybe my plants will just freak out. The real trick is never having the lights go all the way into the corner of your room, but you have to keep the light high enough to cover over half of the room. Always move the stoppers inwards about 1.5 to 2 feet depending on your space. I will probably tighten up the move distance to about 3 feet once that second cannon is in place. I hope you guys are having an awesome day. I'm gonna go pass out as I've been working for far too long, my mother in law is visiting and the Mrs. is freaking out a little, so much cleaning, organizing and rearranging.

How fast does your light move back and forth? Is there a pause at the ends? You tell me that and I can tell you how close you can get away with putting your COBs.

It takes 1 minute to cross the rail, and I have it pausing for 45 seconds on each side. I figured that I would be able to get away with about 12-14 inches once the plants were finished stretching, is that too close? Currently the COBs are 2ft from the canopy and the Spectras are the same distance as well. I figured I would aim for something close to normal but now that I have the room set up I don't think that I could have them much closer than 14-16 inches. The plants look as though they are in peak growth at the moment. I have also considered lowering the pause once they are in flowering to about 35 seconds. What do you think? Thank you for the interest in the grow, I'm very curious about this run.

Today is day five because I was slow finishing getting my tent light tight and my timers adjusted. Instead of weekly I may do 5 day posts. I will most likely start taking pictures daily after day 45 because they will look so good by that time, but I don't want to flood the forum too much. My bloom boosters are built and ready for action in the tent. I will eventually have 4 of the running at ~24w each, but that will be about a week from now. That will bring my tent total up to 30.5 w/sqft. Right now I'm running at 27.5w/sqft which is doing everything that I need. I may just add 2 bloom boosters and let them stay in until the end to maintain 29w/sqft, but I like the idea of adding in extra wattage to encourage growth during the budding stage and pulling them during flush especially because they will be angled in like the spectra for extra penetration. Also if I could only use the bloom boosters during the heavy budding stage I could save myself a few kwh. What do you guys think? I think that this grow is looking exceptional so far, and I can't wait to see what these girls have in store for me.

Day 5 of 12/12: Well here they are in all of their glory! I'm going to tie them down and take a photo shoot tonight, but this is what the girls look like in day 5 of 12/12, the clones have been in soil for ~45 days. They are all extremely happy, although it looks like Centery will need a little love, I'm going to top dress her with the concentrated dry amendments that I use to make my veg and super soil. Tea is brewing as I type this, and I'm going to give them all a little liquid love over the next few days. I'm predicting 10-16 days of stretch for this strain. What do you guys think?

Couldn't justify pinning them down yet, I'm going to wait a few more days before I tie them down. Lefty is too crowded to tie down at the moment she would over compete, I may do a little defoliation on Lefty tonight to expose some lower growth. She's a bit too tight and she didn't transition into flowering as fast as Righty. Day 10 of 12/12 I will have them spread out more and more photos. Peace guys!

Day 7 Update: Lefty is starting to bolt, Centery got a top dressing of worm castings and supersoil concentrate, and Righty had tea watered in on top of some neem meal. Everyone is starting to respond to the light change, the tops are getting dense and bristley and the lower growth is showing off some pistils. I'm thinking 10 - 12 more days before the plants hit their bulking stage. I'm trying to time it right so that there is a day or two left for stretching after the trellis net goes on. It's difficult to time on a first run but that won't stop me from trying. I'm excited. Pics on Saturday!
