You will most likely be incarcerated in the arizona state prison on stolen weapons charges. If you are already a felon as you say then you are double fucked, same thing happened to a friend of mine. He got 18 years. So you will be lucky to get 10 years. The horse is already out of the barn so the medical card don't mean shit life ain't a monopoly game. Good luck get a lawyer and do yourself a favor plead guilty and get less hard time.

Sorry no disrespect towards you but cant say that I agree with that in the least bit. Some of us keep our mouths shut with the authorities no matter how deep of shit we are in. I'm in this for the cause. These people are my brothers and sisters if I get hit I take the fall simple as that. Do some people crack?? Yeah I'm sure but life is about the bigger picture not me and I know my actions hold consequences for myself and others.

Again I don't know all the circumstances and I am not an attorney but if you DID NOT have the gun on you and your prints arnt on the gun, a good attorney should be able to file a motion to suppress that evidence and at least get you off the gun charge. Plead not guilty at you initial arraignment. Your attorney will likely continue the case a few times and you will likely get the best plea offer right before you are about to go to trial.

My case took 7 months from time of arrest up until the plea negotiations. Its a long and stressful wait. Keep your head up and stay out of trouble. If you don't have a legit job, get one asap as that will look good if you are sentenced. Just take one day at a time bro, you will get through this.

Regarding the "get a real attorney" comments:

Those "real attorneys" are there for the money. The Public Defender is not. Your public defender is probably from a local law school and scored fairly well in law school and passed the bar on his/her first time. You know where the "real attorneys" learned how to defend criminals? Being a public defender. Those guys/girls are smart and know the system. They are bound by the rules of professional responsibility to be a zealous advocate for you. They do it all day, every day.

Your case isn't that complicated. Neither the facts nor the law will change with a private attorney. Let the public defender handle this.

Without prints there is no physical evidence linking you to the firearm. As for Mexi-brick, pretty sure a first time offense in AZ results in simple fine.

I agree to an extent but some public defenders are worthless not to mention their case load is so large I wouldn't be suprised if the public defender didn't even know his name by the time the trial came around. I don't know that I would take that kind of a risk with a stolen gun charge personally.
