Whats up group?? I'm a noobee to RIU. I'm a long time toker, first time grower. I first realized how possible it was to grow indoors when i found 20gigs of grow videos online. SeeMoreBuds, Hans, Jeorge Cervantes, and that guy with the green face taught me how to grow. I learned hydroponic, aeroponic, bubbleponic, sea of green, soil, soilless, indoor, outdoor, and every other aspect of growing. I've got a wealth of knowledge on all types of shit, So i could be an asset, and contribute to the group. Also, I'll have a few questions my self. And I'm always up for suggestions, advice, and criticism(the constructive type). I'm not narcisistic in any way, so let me have it, but take it easy.
Here is my set-up. Remember I had many limitations, and i did this on a budget of like Zero dollars. This is all ingenuity and no budget. Everything I used for my grow was found, salvaged, or fabricated with simple things i found around the house, garage, baesment, etc. I got creative. For lighting i use CFL's 4 x 42watt(150w) yellow. I use 3 computer fans for air intake and exhaust. Powered by a 12v 1000mA power adapter i salvaged from a battery charger of some sorts and one small desk fan for the plants. I used 4inch wide shinny reflective duct tape to take the place of mylar, 3inch wide black electrical tape for sealing light in. A really nice computer desk box that my neighbors set out for trash. Two power strips. One timer. And i used a car dash protector as a reflective flap, so all four sides and the celing are reflective. It is comparable to wrinkled up mylar, but it works well. My soil is garbage though, i used that potting mix with the fert. already in it. And two thermometers.. My poor plants had it rough at first, i must have modified the box a hundred times, heat was a major issue when growing in a closed space, but i got it dialed down to a constant 80 degrees and they are happy. A few of my plants show heat damage as you might see. Oh and i built a homemade carbon filter, using fish aquarium filter carbon, the smell was gone the next day. I used that reflective plyable duct tape, to make ducts by hand to chanel the heat, genious i must say. Well enough for now, i can update later. Here are some pics of my handy work.
