I'm no doctor, noobie needs assistance diagnosing plant issues

Hello all,

First time grower and worried about some health issues that have recently come up. I was hoping that some of you wiser/experienced ladies and gents would take a look at some of pictures and help me come to some kind of conclusion. Suggestions/tips are appreciated. Basically I'm worried that I'll misdiagnose and incinerate my plant.(I'm hoping it only amounts to rookie nute burn or something)

Specifics:
Space Grow Tent L(30") X W(18") X H(36")
Lights 10 75W CFL (currently using 6-8)
Grow medium Fox Farms soil
Nutrients Fox Farms
Temp/Humidity 85-88 F 16-26% humidity ( I live in a dry area and humidity regulation is turning out to be more of a pain than expected.)
Air Flow (2) 6" clip fans (1 intake 1 outtake) (1) Box fan blowing through rear vent for temp regulation and hopefully stronger stems and leaves.

Currently LST (hopefully I'm doing it correctly)



Store bought clone 50/50 hybrid strain
7"-7.5" height week 2 from purchase and initial transplant

I wouldn't flush esp. if you have not over ferted as that has the potential to stress them further, move the lights away and keep an eye on them. If you move the lights it should also be beneficial regards the heat/intensity of light...

Update: Raised top light and moved back side lights, I guess one of my small fans crapped out on me already so I temporarily have a box fan blowing through the vent until I get a chance to run to the store. I think this could have (at least partially) contributed to my heat problem. Heat is anywhere between 80-83 degrees. Does anyone think the spotting on the leaves is due to heat/light stress as well?

took me awhile to get pics to load. i don't think there is any light bleaching at all.

looks like a little too much N. too dark green and bit of leaves canoeing. does your soil have nutes in it? if so, are you feeding extra nutes?

spots i think are Mg defic. do you have any cal/mg to add? what water are you using? tap, well, RO??

No cal/mg (still worried about burning her up) I use either distilled water or use tap and let it sit for a day or 2 before applying. I use fox farm soil and from what I understand it contains some nutes. Today is the end of week 2 in veg/bought clone so I would think that the soil is still good yeah?

Cal/mag deficiency veins stay dark on leaves lose pigment & start rust colored spots. Curl most likely from heat stress/light being too close.

Firstly, in seedling stage I use 150w of CFL about 2 inches away...This plant is not in anyway light burned...Second...The Fox Farms products are awesome...I have used them for a long time. Did you add any perlite to it? Have you fed anything? Because the soil indeed has nutes in it. If you are using FF Ocean Forest...and I am pretty sure you are...that soil is pretty hot for seedlings and can burn a small plant...that is the case here IMHO. The temps are just a tad high but not really a problem at that age...just make do what you can to lower it a couple of degrees. But I see no evidence of heat stress either.

LST is a great training method...but the method is to bend the plant over to expose more light to the overall plant and thus adding more tops.

The only real advice I have for you is to continue reading and learning. Knowledge is the most important tool a grower can have.

This plant probably does have a calcium/magnesium lockout issue... but why would a plant that young have a calcium or magnesium issue? What caused the lockout to start with? IMHO the issue here is the soil...

To the op...when you transplant...add perlite to the soil...do not feed at all for 2 to 3 weeks. There is more than enough food in the soil. Make sure you are using properly balanced ph water...for cannabis and FF soil products, it is best to keep your ph at 6.3 to 6.8 range.

1 last thing...rh is a factor in growing cannabis. However, IMHO the importance is slightly over-stated. I live in a very dry climate. I have a problem getting the rh in my tent over 30%. I see no evidence of negative effect in my gurlz. Some may tell you to put standing water in your area to promote rh...but they don't tell you that this is a fungus gnat breeder. And the water won't really help the issue anyway.

See the edge of the leave, is turned up, and intending to curl with time it will

This suggests the air is too dry, add a pot of water

2-3 pints is good, and sit it along side the plant

the leaves show an excess of nutes

I'd be potting up, however you have done

considerable diy shit on that pot suggesting you like it

so cut your nutes flush with 3 times the pot volume

with air temperate/ ph ed water allow a dim light or overnite to drain

also FFOF likes a lot of perlite add 20-30%

no further nutes until you see a positive recovery

but I'd pot up

99.9% agreed. I feel the standing water will bring on gnat infestation. Again, that is my humble opinion. But a small humidifier will do the trick

You guys are awesome! I added a cup or so of perlite and flushed it with 2.5-3 Gallons of water. I'll dim the lights as someone has suggested and leave it be for a few days and hopefully it will recover. At this point I'll be happy with 1oz worth of harvest assuming I didn't mess things up too terribly. Much respect for the vets around here it is very much both a science and an art form. When is a good indication for me to start slowly introducing nutes if at all? (I plan on have a relatively short grow cycle due to space limitations. (3-4weeks veg, 3-4 weeks flower)
