Inda-gro Induction...

Chesus,
It doesn't freak me out to post pics. Just posted one the other day. I am a legal grower and play by all the rules here in my state,so I have no worries.

AltarNation ,
Join dates don't mean shit. Pics are proof and I have the pics. I'm not offended I just think its funny that chesus has 6000 posts and has been a member for one month less than me. Do his 6000 posts make him a senior member?

Hell yea LQ There's amber in them there hills! How's the terpenes doing? Is the room stinking up?

RE previous posts on loaner lights: If those senior members want to try and strike some kind of deal with IG they need to reach out to IG through Darryl. I am getting one Pontoon comped because I've done enough business with them and have documented several grows. I too was told they sampled about 20 units with some established growers and who are already using the IG 420 series. Those growers don't post on RIU but images and videos from a wide variety of providers can be found on the IG FB page 'inda-gro mmj gardens'. If the Pontoons do to my gardens like what they did to the tomato's in the IG side by side than Chaz is going to maxing out his credit card once again.

Yes i just googled them
Funny they have the same price point as indagro
They also have zero rep
Which in my opinion is not much less than inda-gro

make a believer of me. Loan out 3 units to 3 members here. They can test them out. A successful test will be insanely good for inda gro
Hey Cheesus, after reading this latest post of yours I'm going to recommend that Darryl not provide a no charge 'loan' of their products for you to test as your review would not be unbiased. Your recent comment that indagro (can't ever even seem to spell their name right) has not much less than a 'zero rep' tells me you have preconceived notions that would likely find fault with it's performance at every level turn that 'insanely good' review into an insanely bad personal experience. You should stick with what works for you since this is not likely to be a technology that you could get ever get behind.

On to the purple lamp...

When a company puts up a price point near that of it's competitors, who established that price point first, it's their attempt at legitimizing their product in the customers mind as an equal in value. Here is one reason why;

A purple lamp, as any aquarium hobbyist will tell you is seen purple because it emits in the ~10,000 kelvin ranges. This is done to mimic under saltwater conditions where red does not easily pass through saltwater.

dsc_0458.jpg

From what can be seen of this lamp it is not a broad spectrum source for terrestrial plants in that is lacks the red for flowering. I've not seen any grows under these lamps so one can not say definitively but from what I've seen of the visual spectrum as a violet as a step above ultraviolet single lamp, veg-flower, I would be very surprised to see this lamp produce flowers. If it is not a painted on hue we are seeing then the phosphors could be weighted blue and red but since it lacks white it is not full spectrum as the combination of these two colors would blend into a white color that the eye would see. Since this lamp emits a violet/blue it would appear to lack sufficient red for flower.

Now unlike a lamp that has been painted 1/2 red and 1/2 blue inside, all is not lost with this type of 'all purple' lamp. As one who would like to install a lamp for my saltwater aquarium I would not hesitate to try one of these lamps in that environment. Or if I happened to own a nightclub I may decide to use it in combination with a disco ball and have a endless loop of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze playing in the background to complete the scene. Perhaps Cheesus can get them to provide him with one of their lamps and I'll personally send you that Hendrix loop.

My Riant is advertised @ 3500k
But I see pleanty of white in my cab from the light from the Riant grow bulb, but the make them in any color kelvin.
Look at the tops of the plant

Its has more of a pink hue than a purple.

Chaz,
When you said purple light were you referring to the smart grow lamp or the raint? Is that your tank? It looks very nice and healthy. I had a couple salt water set ups back in the day and understand what it takes to keep them thriving.

Hiya Ganja! I was referring to the Smart Grow Lamp. I hadn't really looked at the Riant lamp SH is using. I have tested their lamps/drivers from China direct and found issues with the board design. They were significant in that component failures were due to lack of adequate component strapping to the board. During shipping they came loose and it wasn't until I was 1/2 way through the grow the driver failed. I pointed the issue to Riant and they assured me it would be corrected. They sent me a new one out, 3 weeks by air, and while it worked the issue with component strapping had not been corrected. I ended up using zip ties on the power transformers. A few months later I was cleaning the reflector and I slightly caught the amalgam spur and the glass snapped off so I was done with it after that. You have to keep the reflectors clean. Be very careful working around the amalgam spurs since they should not be that easily broken off.

Wow, sketchy, selective hearing at it's finest. He never even asked for one, he suggested you provide them to other veteran members, not himself. And this sort of reactivity really doesn't work to represent the company well at all. You're basically playing a passive-aggressive game here... doesn't sit well with me. Guess I've made my decision. Thanks for helping, Chaz.

Unsubscribed.

I thought I was pretty speCific in more than one post. That I didn't want to be included in the test. How unfortunate you slandered me.
Btw in one of your posts chazbolin. You said the company doesn't pay you. Then you post, that in fact they have given you no charge the pontoons.
I guess i'm done with your company as well

That other company now has more rep than you. Because unlike indagros over priced rebranded Chinese lamps. They have never attacked me for pointing out they have no reputation.

Im so tired of the, now, typical American mentality. Give it to me free. Do it for me. Spoon fed drones.

WTF!!

Why dont you ask uncle Barry to fund it for you while you're at it.

God forbid you actually do some work and take some risk to get a reward. Thats crazy talk.

Flame on.

Just say'n

Sometimes you just have to take a chance.

Disclaimer - I have absolutely no growing, or smoking for that matter, experience to offer. I'm on my first grow, and my wife is the patient.
Any and all post should be taken with a grain, or two, of salt.

Purple bulbs from my experince, doing par t5 for. 1 1/2 years . For example the korallen zucht fiji purple. Appears very purple. Has high 440-460 blue and low 630 red. No.green no yellow. Add yellow and green the bulb appears pink / red color. both great for veg and flower. The riant spd is lacking in uv-a, uv-b, 660nm, and has way to much 420nm
