Inda-gro Induction...

Rolli made it sound like he was feed up with IG and that they had made a bunch of sock puppets so i think this is more just a case of a lil misdirected aggression... Never said a thing about nutes so idk if that played a hand, but he sadi he warned spliff previously idk if it was recent warning though. grabbed jorge cervantes' book from barnes and noble for a read and the chapter in nutes that i got to yesterday says the same thing spliff said. So idk how this could really be all that big of news.... Makes sense when u think about it of course they are gonna say it contains 20%k when that k is actually just 20% potash so not actually all k but a fraction as spliff pointed out... Again not news but i had not heard of the concept either though. Just to keep it relevant, girls are looking nice chaz have a close up of a diesel bud for ya tmrrw morn.

If anything got spliff banned it was how outspoken he was aginst igrow/FSS... Will be following him where he goes for that secret sauce that is for sure

Spliff said he is looking for a new forum and will keep us posted.

Hopefully Chaz follows, those two are really helpful for a noob like me.

btw

Had my 1st harvest, never done this b4. Par 420. My connoisseur buddy ( I cloned off him) called it 'top shelf' and said he wished his first time was this good. :) Amazing considering all the mistakes I made.

FOR THE RECORD

I have an Inda-Gro 200 and 420. I don't work for Inda-Gro. I chose Inda-Gro because SoCal Edison ramps our rates up to $.35 kWh. Temps here in the summer are over 100. I have been to the Inda-Gro office when I bought my lights. I met the engineer (forget his name), nice guy and very helpful. Met the nice lady in the office when I paid for my lights. I get nothing from Inda-Gro. I gave them money, they gave me product, end of story.

Anybody use a 200PAR full cycle? Recommended coverage for flowering?

I am making a back up plan if the place I want to move into falls through. I was thinking about 1x 200PAR & 2x H150W Red Kessil's, in a 4x3x6ft space, thoughts? It would give me enough space to run it a full run without a light rail, and add it later if I wanted.

I've flowered a run of Blue Dream in a 5 gal bucket with a single 200. While the site says 48 x 48 I'd only count on that area for veg. Taking into consideration final flowering you'll want to be 12-16" away it'll be more like a 36 x36 area coverage you end up with.

There are a lot of reasons behind running these lamps. High utility bills is certainly one of the biggest reasons but also that the lamps are forgiving for the newbie in that even on a first grow you're going to end up with something to smoke. After that you just know you can do better and then you are hooked.

Inda-Gro only has 5 people in their offices; Darryl is the owner, Jeff is the electrical engineer, Jeo is the gardener, Kim (a good one to know if you ever need a ballast cross shipped under warranty) and Cindy do the admin. There are another 15 people I'd guess doing the fab/wiring/board work. If you're ever in SD you can tour the place and see the process start thru finish.

So it was a combination of 'sock puppets', Spliff ignoring a previous warning and the recounting of his personal experiences with the USDA approved igrow lights that all combined got him permanently banned in a fit of misdirected aggression? I don't believe it. If not for the nutes post which Hyroot makes a compelling reason why his ban is not related to that post I think it's also possible that something else may have occurred.

It's possible that RIU may have received a law firm letter threatening impending legal action in that the site was aiding and abetting the slandering of FSS/igrow in an orchestrated campaign that would show that actual damages were being caused by these posts. This type of action by FSS would not surprise me in the least in that they are constantly directing their lawyers to send out threatening Cease and Desist type letters claiming patent infringement, slander, not made in the USA, etc etc etc. Of course these letters are meaningless and FSS won't take legal action because it's not only expensive to bring these matters to trial it is especially problematic if the suit lacks merit. In fact there is a real risk that the defendant would prove the case to be frivolous and seek malicious prosecution damages for having to defend the case. That type of loss would lay bare any future FSS claims that a threatening letter from a law firm representing the big bad number one in the world made in the USA, USDA approved blah blah blah FSS/igrow might hope to achieve when sending these letters. This is not a far fetched scenario and is one of a few methods FSS employs to make their competition go away.

In 2010 FSS filed a formal complaint with the DOE that charged every company in the US, except for FSS, who sold an induction light fixture claiming it was made in the USA was in violation of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The complaint filed by their lapdog Congressman Mark Schauer (who was defeated shortly after this complaint was filed) was sent to VP Joe Biden who than leaned on the DOE on behalf of the good working men and women of the State of Michingan to launch an official investigation of these charges. The case was investigated by the DOE visiting the accused manufacturers sites. After visiting the sites the DOE determined that these competitor manufacturers were not in violation of the ARRA and closed the entire case in just 11 days. For FSS to still me making these types of claims today and firing off these letters is patently absurd. Little people. Little minds.

If FSS/igrow were to be successful in their attempts to shut down all competition the only 'Made in the USA' induction lamps you'd be able to buy for your garden would the Veg and Bloom lamps our old friend Spliff reviewed at the prices igrow chose to set. Integrity. You either have it or you don't.

Rolli how about bringing Spliff back. He's good for RIU. If you've got to ban someone over all this ban me instead.

I currently have one plant starting to flower under my 420 light.
How close is recommended to keep the light to the top of my plant?
Thanx!

A straight 420 grow I keep my lamp to canopy spacing @ 12-16". With the pontoon I'm keeping it @ 20" with good results.

Stop the acts of martyrdom chaz please! Did not know all that you know of this (why you need to stick around and spread some knowledge) legal hoopla. Just conveying what the admin said to me when I questioned spliff's ban, did not know it was permanently! I had heard of IcSchwag pulling this crap but hoped rollitup was above it.... Don't know what to believe, want to document my grow on this site and learn more from the people on it but a lot of conflicting feelings right now....
Anyone heard about this background malware that shows up from riu now since riu maps? some tracking shit I hear, not cool.... Heard this n alexandersupertramp's thread, dude is not a member anymore cuz he found this software running in the background of his comp.....
Almost forget to quick post some snaps of the diesel, wanna know the weird thing this strain is supposed to take a week longer but is so much significantly fatter than the rest, preference to the pontoon? guess we will never know cuz even me eluding to the fact these lights do something other than grow weed is not allowed.... *Spam alert* By the way the pontoons make my weed glow in the dark, BUY THEM!2013-04-04 06.37.30.jpg2013-04-04 06.37.14.jpg

Thanks Natro. I hope I'm staying here and Spliff gets back in.

I don't see anything running in the CPU background. Do you know specifically what program Alexander found and where it was running?

Malware would be wrong software. Malware eats away at your registtry. Even after its gone. Eventually breaking down the code to eventually your computer won't be able to load the desktop. Tracking software can only track isp address. Cannot legally see computer. If that's in the maps then don't use it.

That's what I thought too. It's not an actual malware program running in the background. So how would you be able to identify if the other side is using tracking software? I just always presume they are no matter what site you happen to be on.

Spyware or network antivirus like symantec. There's different kinds of tracking software. Spyware, Trojans, cookies et ... I use symantec for networks and malware bytes.

Thanks for the links Chaz. Maybe if igrow is behind the Spliff ban this information gets him reinstated. I want to see his finish. The second link kind of summed it up when Nevins is asked why his company filed this complaint with the DOE he responds:

'Full Spectrum President and CEO Michael Nevins said they have been investigating this since January, and aren’t surprised their competitors are denying the allegations.

“That’s what you always say when you’re caught: ‘We didn’t do it,’ ” Nevins then goes on to say his company does import products, but said there is a key difference between Full Spectrum and its competitors.

“We don’t say the products that we import are made in the USA,” he said.'

Uhhmm... I call BS since everything about igrow marketing has always been about how they are so much better than the competion with their Made in the USA products. When my local hydroshop was considering selling igrow they had it in writing that they won't let any of their dealers carry igrow and inda-gro. My shop passed because of that. This dealer must not have read the memo since he sells both: http://growershouse.com/induction-grow-lighting

I wonder how inda-gro feels about a shop selling multiple brands of induction?

Darryl himself said he welcomes the competition.. basically the more induction around the more being used. Not his words exactly. Paraphrasing.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't spliff get the pontoons at no cost to do the public demonstration? If that is true it makes him sponsored which would require fees to advertize their product per site rules. It was specifically about promoting the pontoons. If it is a misunderstanding that would be the reason to address.

I am not sure, I know he got one early for testing prior to their release. I don't know if he purchased that or not. I do recall him stating in his thread that he bought the following ones. But even still, that would mean that some of the people who started threads about new LEDs coming out that they are getting to test would be getting banned as well.

Also, in my experience with most forums when someone is banned they rarely delete their threads and posts. Normally a thread just gets closed so no one can post and it falls off the first page and essentially disappears unless someone searches for it. To delete the thread would sort of conflict with the whole purpose of forums, a place to find information. That thread was full of useful information that essentially cannot be found on here anymore. Regardless if it is competitors not liking what he had to say or just questionable work by a mod, it is a shame. Banning someone that spread so much knowledge on a on a site that exists to share said knowledge is laughable.

But I digress. I am hopefully going to be getting an 420 par and pontoon set up or two in the near future. Seems like the perfect choice for my needs. Thanks to all you fine gentlemen (mayhaps ladies as well) who took the time to test these lights out and share the results with the rest of us.

Not sure if you can see it in the picture. A lot of the leaves are stretching up to the light.

Anyone know if this is a problem or not?

There was some mention of this on Spliff's pfr post i think.
