LoL.. I know you weren't braging, I was just giving you props on having the degrees!! Electrician huh? I might not be able to find anyone looking to hire but I sure will have some question for you in the near future lol..

Yea bro my outdoors are looking really ruff but that was my own damn fault, I'm actually suprised there still alive!! The indoor short riders are blowing up quick and their 1 week younger than the outdoor plants! The outdoor plants where shocked from transplanting a couple times though and I was a complete newb so it wasn't done "right" by any means. Plus one of them had that type of bug thats inside the leaf and I had to cut off the lower leaves.. Another big factor, its been hard for me to find a really sunny spot thats not obvious. Plus its been raining a lot lately so there's not much sun to begin with!

Thats crazy that your outdoors are taking off like that! I did start a couple regular seeds to throw outside when the time comes so hopefully those will grow a little better.

Took a visit out today. Everything is looking pretty good. 2 of the 3 big ones are showing female preflowers. The other one is still a mystery, although I doubt I'm lucky enough to go 3 for 3.

Low Girl should be ready in 2, maybe 3 weeks. One of the leaves has some weird spots on it. I'm thinking it's bugs, but who knows. Not too worried about it at this point as long as it doesn't spread to the bud. I just noticed in the picture there is a small bug on the leaf (along with a spider). Maybe that's the culprit. Unless it really blows up in the next 2 weeks, It's not going to yield nearly as much as I was hoping for. Oh well, guess some bud is better than no bud.

Everything got sprayed again for bugs, including the low girl, although I tried not to get too much on the cola. Northern lights is getting more lanky by the day. Hopefully the FIM encourages it to fill out a little better. The big plants are starting to fill out nice for me and are about 4' tall. Purple is probably pushing 3' and NL is probably around 3 1/2'.

Lineup:
1) low girl leaf damage
2) low girl cola
3) purple
4) northern lights
5) fantaseeds unknown lady
6) other fantaseeds unknown lady (90% sure)
7) fantaseeds unknown

Man I'm not sure what bug causes this but I get it every year too. Seems like when all the grasshoppers are around it starts to happen. It never really gets bad, though I do spray so I'm sure that has alot to do with it.

Little dissapointed. Lost my biggest plant today. When I went out, it was all wilted like it needed water, but when I closer the top of the stem was all messed up. It looked rotted, so I split the entire plant in half and it was full of grubs! Nastly little fuckers. Looked like maggots with tiny pinchers. Not really sure what happened, if the wind split the top, then the grubs invaded, or if the bug infestation was so severe it caused it to rot from the inside out. It's been almost a week since I visited last, so who knows. Looked great last time. Very strange. Wish I would have had the camera. Considering the other 2 are definitely female, statistically speaking I only had about a 12% chance of it being a female, but I still would have liked to know for sure before losing it.

Good news is that is wasn't one of the females and the two ladies are looking pretty good. Still worried about the one toppling over later on, but doing the best I can to keep it secure. The 2 remaining females are probably close to 5 feet tall and starting to fill out. The one is looking like it wants to start flowering already. Getting really greedy on the nutes. Been using full strength nutes and it still lookes like they are calling for more nitrogen. Watered and fed the Purple and NL too. The FIM seems like it took on the NL without too much stress. Purple is looking great and is starting to preflower. Probably going to let the Low Girl go another 2 weeks. Only about 10% of the hairs have turned brown so far. Pics next time.

I know wht your talking about, I had them in 08'. They look like a mealy worm right? On my plants they bored in and sealed there entry with shit, almost looks like saw dust kinda. When they are inside they eat and shit their way up, the stem gets all fat and fucked up looking too. I am looking right now in my old pics for them.

Found it. Here are some pics. I just cut open the stem and removed the bugs. The plants were fine after that. Some even grew with the stems split wide open.

Yup that's it! Haha, they make a nice little "pop" when you squash them.

I was gonna try to let it go and see if it pulled through, but it was too far gone. They must have been at it for awhile. I was out really early yesterday morning to water when I found it. The leaves looked like it wasn't watered in 2 weeks. I gave it 2 gallons hoping it would spring back but I went back again last night and it was still messed up. Half the leaves were even turning yellow. I think they came in from the bottom and after they destroyed the inside popped the top actually. There was a hole like in your pic all filled up with shit in the bottom a little beneath the soil line I noticed after I ripped it out.

Anything you can do about them? My other 2 big females are in that same area. If either of them get them, I'll really be pissed.

Found this in the bug section sticky. Must have missed it the first time. Doesn't seem like there is much you can do besides pray you don't get them...

Beetle Borers

Prevent: Beetle borers are primarily found in outdoor gardens. Cleanliness and good habits will keep these pests out of greenhouses and indoor growrooms.
Identify: The beetle borer is the larvae of a large variety of beetles and a particularly nasty pest. These larvae leave entry holes at the base of stalks where they continue chewing through the stems of your plant. A brown trail of death will follow the path of a beetle borer, these pests cause severe enough damage to water transportation systems of plants everything around the trail dies. If the base of branches or heaven forbid the main stem of the plant are infected, death can quickly follow for everything outwards of the trail.

Note the entry hole on the left of the picture and subsequent trail to the location of the larvae

Eradicate
Repression: Keeping indoor grows clean is the only countermeasure.
Predators: The borer is a large enough tunneling insect that no effective predator has been identified. Predatory nematodes can help control grubs in the soil but this is a largely preventative measure and not a treatment.
Manual Removal: The best and virtually only way of controlling beetle borers. If damage is sited, follow the trail and cut the borer out of your plant. Oftentimes damage is already done when a beetle borer is located. If the branch or affected area does not bounce back quickly or is obviously done for, remove it with a clean cut from a knife or scissors.
Spray: The beetle borer lives inside the hardy stalks of your plant making sprays nearly useless. Bacillus papillae is a beetle specific fungal powder and can have limited success. If the beetle is in the main stem of your plant and you cannot get to it without endangering the life of your plant, injecting a product called rotenone directly into the stalk with a hypodermic syringe will kill the grub.

I hope so too man. I'd be pretty dissapointed if I lost one of my big girls. For the most part, I thought I was past the "catastrophic failure" stage. Guess there is still a lot that can go wrong. Gonna have to do everything I can to keep the 2 big girls healthy.

I forgot to mention I have that Cole Train going for about a week now. Going to try to bush it up nice with 6500K CFLs for about 3 or 4 more weeks then put it out. The 12/12 idea from seed was pretty stupid so I have it on 20/4. Thinking it will flower almost immediately after taking it out in mid July. I'm not sure if this is good to do, but I think I'm going to put it in the same hole as the big one I just lost since it was probably my best spot with the most light. Not going to use the same dirt, going to remove it all and fill it with Sunshine Mix. I've hiked the entire area and still haven't found a better spot. Well, I did, but it's too close to the path. The bush around here is so thick. If I do this again next year, I think I'm going to try a completely different area. It sucks not having a truck or jeep at my disposal that I can use to really scout out the bush better and not have to park on the street all shady.

So what do you think so far NeL? Anything else I can be doing at this point to keep things running smoothly?

Chopped Low Girl on Sunday a little early at only around 5 weeks. Went out just to check on her and something ate all the fan leaves! Wanted to give it another week at least, but with no fan leaves at all I figured it was pointless. Who knows, whatever it was it could have come back for the buds. Nothing spectacular, looks like it's going to be around 5 grams. It looked a little fluffy at first, but it's drying nice. I quick dried the popcorn buds in about 3 hours a few inches above a CFl. Harsh as hell of course, but surprisingly potent stuff. Still a little harsh, but actually starting to taste decent today. Very piney. Got about 2 grams off the popcorn buds. The cola is still hanging. Even though it only lookes like 3 or 4 grams tops, I still want to dry it properly though. A little airy, but starting to come together as it dries. Looking good. A lot of people like to trash autos, but if I had lots of this I could sell it for $50-60 and 1/8 all day long if I really wanted to. Yeah, the yield was really small, but it's something and was a fun little experiment. Under better conditions, I can see Low Girl pulling 1/2-3/4 of an ounce. Would definitely consider growing this strain again.

Other plants are looking good. Two big girls are slowing up on the verticle growth a little and are starting to fill out nice. Purple looking pretty good too. The NL took the FIM well and looks like it's growing 3 new tops. Finally took the skirt off and bent that bitch over and tied it down. Didn't quite get it horizontal, but pretty damn close. We'll see what happens. Gonna get some pics as soon as my camera turns up. It's MIA at the moment.

Yeah it was rough the first day. Don't think I'm going to have it long enough to really get a good curing going though, haha.

I'm actually thinking about getting another auto batch in this summer. I think I can squeeze it in. My younger brother's been laughing at me since I started this stuff in April, but after seeing my plants and smoking some of the weed, now he wants to do a grow between me and him. Think I'm going to try Green-O-Matic, but I'm not sure yet. Either that or one of the Joint Doctor strains. They are about the same price, but with the Green-O-Matic you get 5 instead of just 3 with Low Ryder.

Green-O-Matic sounds good, I'll have to go check it out. I think I'm gonna try to pick something up this weekend to get in on that deal with attitude. I need something with a photoperiod, I'm ready to start making clones and try to keep a mother going.

If it was me that lowryder wouldn't last to cure unless I had something to hold me over lol.. I'll have to make sure I have some swag at least when my plants are ready to chop lmao..

Man autos have really blown up in the last few years. I'm really curious to try some. Only auto I ever grew was mighty mite. I'd like to see whatever you choose unfold for sure.
