Inline fan carbon filter a bit too noisy for my liking

This is the one .

So it's 32db from 3 metres away . The start up knows is way too loud and I have to keep the plug half way unplugged do I haven't actually even heard it under full power . I live in an apartment with crappy insulation . I can hear my neighbour cough so sure as hell they can hear my inline fan.

Will a speed controller reduce this sound is there anything else I can do . Otherwise I'll have to go without on this one :(

If that fan is an actual EC fan it'll definitely be quieter with a speed controller. I have an AC Infinity (which is an EC fan) 6" on low and my clip fan makes significantly more noise. Your neighbors will hear white noise at best but white noise gets cancelled pretty well by walls so they prob wouldn't notice a thing.

Without a controler mine winds out too and is only a 4 inch, barely hear the tv. Tent in living room.
