Insurance

The gov needs to step into this insurance mess. Because if you have no insurance your mortgage will be history as well.
This is a very big problem. Patients alone can do nothing to these insurance giants.
This right here!!!
It was not a good feeling going 8 weeks without any coverage. And you are 100% correct, you must carry at a minimum fire insurance, or you are in default on any mortgage.

Even with no mortgage your still fucked if you have ANY type of claim where an adjuster needs to come to your house. Essentially no med grower has any insurance coverage. This is a huge problem.
How many indoor med growers are there in Canada? Anyone know that number?

Hellth Canaduh says 200k ACMPR registered, how many are grows I’m not sure? I’m also not sure if that number includes the 25k MMAR growers under the Allard injunction?

There a lot of uninsured liability out there....un spoken of really. Are we the only guys talking about this?
I have a badass insurance broker working all the angles with underwriters now. He’s investigating a new underwriter who may be willing to issue MJ coverage as a standard policy. They will likely have some sort of inspection required, standard safety stuff, and add a premium of course. But, at least it will be a standard policy with all the normal bells and whistles...at a reasonable cost. Real coverage is coming soon for sure, the genie is already outta the bottle, and no stuffing it back in. .

that alone would GUARANTEE THEM HUGE BUSINESS until the next bunch hopped inline..
its just convincing the people the money is there.
Funny..the government has no idea what taxes will be.....and no idea of the sales...

There is a growing grow INS buiness though and its there ready for someone to have..

It’s really strange that Insurance underwriters are not chomping at the bit on this. The 1st company to offer standard homeowners policies is gonna make bank. I’ve even discussed with my broker about private underwriting...but we’re talking like $10M+ just to start underwriting in the province...never mind coast-to-coast coverage.

Please keep me in the loop on that Dman. I'd like to find a policy that actually covers me and doesn't just take my cash. Later to tell me " sorry...no insurance for you ! "

I'd like to know what happened, why Dman is so sure they won't cover your legal small scale ACMPR grow if something liability wise happens? My policy does not have the explicit admonition against growing.

If someone steals your shit and you are looking for comprehensive insurance that is a bit different. I call that old Betsy and you don't want to meet her...

Don’t take my word for it. Call around to any insurance Co (not your own) in Canada and ask them if they’ll offer you a homeowners policy for ACMPR.
