Well that's a good point and rather funny/stupid at the same time Green. Your correct. They don't that I know of they don't talk about wattage. But they specifically mention the legal grow limit of 4. Even if your licensed for more they will not cover you and drop you. FACT !
On the wattage subject if the fire or something else happens and during inspection your setup looks unsafe...BINGO.
If you read your fine print you'll find info about you altering or setting up unsafe electrical equipment. They got it all covered buddy. This isn't their first day at insuring homes. They do a few ya know. How many do you insure....one?
None of us are insurance agents or adjuster that I know of.
Sorry bro but everything you've said is merely your wishful hopeful thinking and not actually reality or fact. It's what you want and expect to happen.
I told ya I talk to an agent this morning on this very subject. And one yesterday. They confirm all we said.
I also said " call your agent" or any agent. Don't even use you name. You get the same answer we're telling .
More than four...your out the door.
It would be great if you would actually offer proof instead of just talking down to me like I am some fucking moron.

Sorry bro but everything you have said is simply your thinking and hearsay .You have not offered even the slightest bit of reality or fact to back up what you are saying. Yet you state them as facts?
I know my policy very well and there is nothing in there that pertains to growing more then 4 plants. Or growing any plants for that matter. Or anything to do with growing what so ever. Electrical or otherwise. Now can I go wire in my own breakers and be covered? Of course not, but I most certainly can plug in an appliance ( which is all our gear is if it isn't DIY).
Also just because I didn't tell my company doesn't mean they were not asked by someone I know. When they were asked the response was, " As long as it is being done legally and not commercial and everything is up to code. If it is commercial then you will need commercial insurance"

SO again I am not here to fight with people. I was simply stating my experience.

For the record I would rather have a sister as a whore then a brother as a insurance broker.

Cheers :)

@GreenHighlander by not disclosing your grow and any modifications for said grow...you’re already in violation of your policy. ANY modifications to a dwelling must be reported to Insurance Co.

Hippy gave you some solid advice...anonymously call your insurance Co (or ANY Standard provider) and inquire about coverage for an ACMPR grow (more than 4 plants) in your dwelling (or even and out building), and see for yourself. We’re not here to BS you or anyone else on this. Search my past posts and you’ll see what I went thru with losing coverage for a LEGAL MMAR grow. I’ve been screaming this outrage for years.

AND...if you’re too lazy to use google...here ya go!

April/2019 (after Bil C-45 came into effect)

I have made zero modifications to my house. I also have stated what was said when my insurance company was asked about it.
I did not know about you losing coverage because of this. I have not been trying to say that companies won't do that. That being said it still doesn't mean it is that way for everyone with every company.
And fuck you with the too lazy for google BS lol Like I didn't already do that. You go ahead and believe an article from some propaganda rag all you want.Notice how they say could, not will. I am looking for actual concrete proof that shows this is actual policy for ALL insurance companies. They can't make up something that is not written in your policy.

I am not saying any of you are bullshitting me.I actually don't doubt for a second what you and hippy both are saying is true. I am saying none of you have shown anything that actually proves what you are saying. Just because one or two companies won't cover does not mean they all won't. If it isn't in writing then it doesn't exist in a policy.

Cheers :)

IMO I haven't spoken down to you. I could have but have decided to stay nice.
I'm glad you hate insurance brokers. But that has zero to do with these facts. I have no preference either way. They do a job I need done. Or buy direct as some companies do their own sales.
I told you I spoke to 2 brokers on this. What did you do?????????????????
Call a broker and get the news first hand man. Dman and I already know the truth. You apparently prefer to ignore it.
Dman went through this first hand. I've read this on lots of insurance sites.
What company are you with? I'll call a broker of theirs and ask. Or better yet save your own ass and do that yourself.
From what I see you have everything to gain and LOTS to loose if your wrong my friend. Are you willing to chance it. Many do. But for me insurance is for a reason. Having and finding out it's useless is not an option.
I'm with the co operators...this is from their site...and by the way the proof you claim we don't have...so eat that comment now ok??? Cuz your wrong.

Home insurance
In all provinces except Manitoba and Quebec, you can legally grow up to four cannabis plants on your property for personal use. These four plants are treated the same as any other legal plant on your property and are covered under your Home insurance policy. If you illegally exceed the number of plants allowed in your province or territory, your claim may be denied entirely.
"

Need more proof...better check your own companies site. Or call your broker...DARE YA....c'mon
Prove me wrong . I'd be happy for you.
We've shown you facts...you told us your wishes and hopes.....seems pretty obvious who correct here.

@GreenHighlander It doesn’t matter in you made zero modifications to accommodate a grow, the fact that you didn’t disclose an ACMPR grow (above 4 plants) is grounds for denial....FULL STOP! If you didn’t disclose the grow, that is a “material change” that the Insurance Co didn’t have a chance to charge a higher premium for or deny coverage outright from the beginning. By your own omission...you’re already fukd!

Don’t shoot the messenger(s) dude, we are stating facts. Again if you want definite proof for yourself...call your Insurance Co, or any Standard provider for that matter. Although I am not a broker, I’ve become somewhat of an expert thru my own brokers attempts at getting me proper Med grow coverage. Hippy is going thru exactly what I did right now. I have put him in contact with my broker (a true expert) to obtain proper coverage. It’s not cheap (approx $3000-$4000/year) to get full coverage, and you’ll never find anything that comes close to the bells and whistles a standard policy affords you....but, you can have peace of mind in knowing any claim will be fully covered (even if it’s grow related).

So again, make some calls to various Standard Insurance Co’s tomorrow and find out for yourself. We’ll gladly accept your apology for being wrong and your nasty comments with absolutely no hard feelings! :)

Fuckin clown huh?
Now you blew it you pathetic amatuer lawyer. You don't know shit. You don't even have the balls to call your own broker.
Like we said I dare ya to call your broker and tell him what your doing. Go ahead chicken shit. You won't because you know what you'll hear. Hey big boy if what you say is right he'll only verify your delusions you ass wipe ignorant hillbilly.
Then you can show us the proof and toad-a-so us. Cus we did you sunshine. clearly several times. We won!
You clearly told us you never sent pics of your grow. Your like a kid who hides in the closet thinking well if they can't see me they won't find me. That kind of immature thinking might get you a real big surprise.
Is that how you protect you and your family? BY guessing it's gonna be ok. Well for us other adults we know the score as we've been there and researched this up and down. did you think we just made this up to scare you or others....hahahahaha
We're trying to warn those who will listen and take the proper action.

We proved to you what you can't do. Now go ahead and prove you us what "you" can do. I'd love to be wrong. I'd ask the name of the company you are with and be thankful for it. Might even buy you a steak dinner.......might.
But shown us in a letter or clipped email your can do what your doing and they are cool with it. Not just what you wish would happen. That's simply your opinion. We showed you actual factual material...you told us your dreams like a little girl before she falls asleep.......call me a fuckin clown will ya?
Waiting...........................................waiting.......post your proof!

Call your company and ASK them...It would save your face from turning green when you find out YOU ARE NOT COVERED UNLESS you have an MMAR or AMCPR and have INFORMED THEM AS SUCH and THEY GO FROM THERE.
AS it stands now, growing more than 4 and NOT INFORMING YOUR INS COMPANY will see you "denied" ANY CLAIM MADE due to this FACT.
CALL and ASK. Its Simple to do and takes on one questions... :)

@GreenHighlander So quiet today...hmmm?! We’ll assume you’ve got both feet stuck in your mouth ATM after contacting your own Insurance Co and found out you have ZERO coverage. It’s ok...we can wait for you too get your feet back in place and we look forward to your apology. It’s ok to be wrong, but it takes a real man to admit when he was!

*sigh* I see this place hasn't changed much.

Why do people always have to talk like this on grow forums? This always instantly kills otherwise good threads with lots of good info.
