I've a question, the citi 2200K cob you sell, is there a significant portion of the Far Red spectrum in these cobs? I saw an ad passing these of as such and charging 35euros for it!

The PC amber has very little far red, a 3000k cri95 has more. Easier just to get some far red strips to mix with COBs if you want far red.

That's what I thought. there is a euro site selling these and claiming they are "special" far red cobs. I've a friend who knows the owner and he claims its his own custom chip..... The guys not a big enough dealer to get a custom cob!

@CobKits what would it cost to get a COB with a special coating? Have you heard of a far red cob? I haven't but I'm not an expert.

That is a custom made spectrum, I have had some over the years also, I didn't go ahead with them because of the efficiency, the people that will do the custom cobs have a lower efficiency than the top companies that can do this. I had mine made by one of the top brands several years ago but I am under and NDA so I can not tell you who it was with. They wanted a massive MOQ to put it into production but my issue was although I had to purchase the massive moq to get it into production they wanted to sell it to everyone not just me. My advice on that chip is request an efficiency test, this is also a big thing that needs to be asked, they must have an LM-80 test done on them.

I gave up on doing a pc red COB and now have a mid power package as it is alot more efficient and versatile

i agree with you. the 90 cri cobs have plenty of far red imo. plants can only take so much
