the single-cob fixtures were often requested - so i modified my latest batch of heatsinks to have the proper thru holes - as well as multiple chip mounting options. im going to send some of these multi-cob fixtures off for full photometric testing

some of the options will include

HBG100-36A w 4x citi 1212 :$115 assembled / $85 kit

yeah i built myself some awhile back. with the 50mm fan that can mount to those heatsinks (just needs run with a tap), ive run em at 150W per heatsink. heatsink gets pretty warm but with the 4 cobs spread out it maintains decent efficiency

im looking forward to getting some photometrics on those. back when i originally tested some cobs vs QBs, 3 1212s were matching the first gen boards in ppfd/W in my basic tests. so that 4 cob setup is an elegant fixture that should match current boards, and the luminus 4 cob rig should be pretty off the charts

glad to be back on RIU, i kinda fell off the map for awhile after the accident, took a while to get back to a-game. was able to maintain everything but not really innovate in the way i would like. i guess i should count my blessings. after this crazy recent deal, it looks like a lot of small businesses are not coming back at all. Grateful for all i have <3

Wow! Glad your ok! Yours is one of the few threads I watch here. its nice to communicate in a thread that is civil!

And I still have a couple if active heatsinks with citi 1825s i got from you. They get moved around to fill in as needed and have been great lights.

@CobKits I have a Citi 1825 based light that's 4.5 years old. Should I replace the cobs? How much degradation has likely occured ? i'm wondering, if witha little drill work and a tap, I could mount a pair of CMX22 on my heatsinks.

What are you running those Citis at, Pop? And are there four of them?

So not really sure Im adding much, but just wanted to say thanks to cobkits. I was figuring out my led rig for my cabinet, originally not understanding how shit these Amazon AC COB's were until I came across a post by cobkits. I had a single unit I was playing with and couldnt figure out why I was getting so much heat lol. Thanks to his site I was able to build a both cost and power efficient rig with CLU048-1212's and meanwell drivers. Just a big thanks for getting me the right gear all in one place.

1825s are pretty good in terms of efficiency, esp at 75W. i still have a tent on those

thats kinda the problem of the larger cobs, they are not as standard, where the 28mm cobs are all bolt-in replacement

cxm32s are the same size and voltage as your cobs. ive been leery to stock those as the larger cobs simply dont sell as well, and theri advantages over a cxm22 at the wattages we normally run dont really justify the price difference, imo
