Just out of curiosity...What does Cree recommend for running their COBs? I know (most) everyone wants to under drive them to get them to be more efficient, but I think I read somewhere that Cree designed their CXB 3590 COBs to be run much, much harder than what we mostly see applied around here. And although they obviously can be used to grow plants, Cree did not specifically designed them for that purpose. So, what did Cree have in mind when they made those COBs? Industrial lighting? Home lighting? And how hard would Cree say to drive them if you asked them?

The nominal current in the data sheet would give you a reasonable answer. Also, they don't provide data below 50W.

Applications depend on where you think 50-100W of LED would make sense. Retail, warehouse, industrial, street lamps, probably every place but residential indoor lighting.

Hey cobit I get a little confused with the adjustable voltage drivers. I was looking at 2 of the 120-48a drivers for 8 6500k 1812's
I'd like to dim the cobs too and run 2 drivers so I could power the center 4 cobs when the pots are close together and be able to add the far 4 cobs once they get bigger. Do you think this is the best option? The space is only 4x6 and figured the 1812's driven sort of low would get me the best bang efficiency wise. Any thoughts would be great. Also maybe the 2 outer middle cobs would you recommend doing 5k to break up all the 6500k's thank you in advance

the x's keep getting pushed to the left but they are supposed to be centered
